I am so proud of a city I love responding as it has thus far. I'm humbled and encouraged by the response of the families of the victims to the killer - what profound expressions of faith and the power of the Gospel. I grieve for the loss of brothers and sisters in Christ and am grateful for the outpouring of love and sympathy for Mother Emmanuel. Grateful now for so many calls to bring down the flag. It's a worthy move to make. Hopefully it will be made due to more to a heart issue rather than political expediency - but I'll take the latter over doubling down on dumb.
Wish that those of you who have mocked faith and prayer in this thread (in incredibly poor taste considering the victims and the moving expressions of their families) wouldn't have. But it is what it is. Imho, it is that faith which will win.
Grace & Peace.
We are good people, hurt people, misunderstood people. Some people just refuse to see or believe it.
