Chip Caray to St Louis Broadcasts

It makes too much sense to move either Powell or Ingram to TV. I don’t really have a preference to which goes where as I think they are both outstanding and I probably watch and listen to an equal number of games.

What about letting Twit do play by play and manage. At least we will know he is awake.

‘The team looks really good and playing really good. I see really good things happening when they play really good. But sometimes the other team plays really good and it is just who plays really gooder’.

Bowman mentioned Ben Ingram and Tom Hart as the two favorites with Rich Waltz also involved. But he also said "Bally's financial woes could influence the decision."

Doing a little snooping online, it appears that Hart lives in Atlanta (although he is a Missouri native and graduate of UM). I couldn't find any salary information for him...I have zero idea what either network pays their staff.

Is this the real reason Chip is leaving? Bally can’t meet his outrageous salary demands?

My mind is made up that Chip is leaving because he absolutely fckn sucks at commentating…He can take all of his stupid fckn one liners with him too

“Book end”
“BELTED”
“The fan from Acworth”

He sucks…and it’s even more embarrassing when he gets the nationally televised playoff games on TBS for different teams and he doesn’t know sh*t…

I am actually very surprised of the sad Braves fans about this news. Sticking to just mainly this board, I thought Chip was disliked as he is just a simpleton announcer who refused to look at how this game is evolving. I was wrong. I’m entirely unsure of why he is mostly loved.

Mainly because of his connection to Skip.

Chip has been with the team for 17 seasons dating back to 2005.

As Cy once said to me during a dinner at Waffle House in Nashville in 2019: "He may be a moron, but god damnit he's our moron".
