Chipper Jones picked the Dodgers to win in 4.

I am absolutely shocked that you, specifically, would be so cynical about the Braves' chances for success!

I've said before we could beat them in a seven game series, a five game series will be incredibly tough.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Uh... let's see here.

We would have a better chance of beating them, if Kershaw pitches twice, Greinke pitches twice, Ryu pitches twice, but to possible sneak out a win on each of them in a 5 games series we have absolutely no shot?

Explain your logic here please.

The same people always pick the Braves to lose (not Chipper obviously). Its tiring to even read anymore.

Come on gents. Some of you are just negatrons. First pitch hasn't even been thrown yet. The Dodgers are beatable. They played worse than the Braves in September. I brought the family up. My kids first post season game. My first one was in 91 and haven't been since 99. Weather here is great. Gonna be a good night. At least let Medlen get shelled before you start talking like this.

Ramirez has a bad back, Kemp and Ethier are out. We can beat these guys.

Chipper hanging out too much at Hooters again?

I think the Dodgers are slightly better, but there's a reason they play the games.

One difference between Kershaw and Greinke and out Big 3 is that of our Big 3, only Smoltz really took the bat out of the other team's hitters. Glavine and Maddux were ball-in-play guys and those guys tend to have a bit of a fall-off when everyone is playing at full throttle in the playoffs.

When I thought the Dodgers were the best team was when Ramirez was healthy and mashing to go along with the idea that Kemp would be back eventually. This team is absolutely beatable and I think Medlen/Tehearn/Minor come to play some ball this series!

The defense – sometimes quite literally – dropped the ball a few postseasons, as well.

Just listened to the whole interview. Chipper doesn't give us much hope. He said the Dodgers are the best team in baseball and he thinks they'll win in 4 due to Kershaw and Greinke. He mentioned several times that if a pitcher is on there's really nothing you can do other then try to run up their pitch count and hope to get to the bullpen. He said even if we were able to force it to 5 we would have to face Kershaw again.

Wow. You would think a guy who played his whole career with the Braves would pick us no matter what he thinks. I mean he isn't doing a show where he is getting paid to give an opinion. This is just an interview. If I were him I would just say the Braves. Now someone like Smoltz who does games and is on the mlb network is a different story I would get it if he picked the Dodgers but geez, thanks Chipper.

Again, it's the play-offs. 50% chance we win, 50% chance we lose, +/- 5% or so.

Wouldn't matter if we were playing the 1927 Yankees. It's baseball.

I'm a little disappointed that Chipper said that.

Any "fan" picking against us is so lame. Just be a fan and assume we will win, and if we don't consider it bull****. Really? Picking against us in 4 heyward? Why are you even a fan then if you don't think we will win? Hate that ****. Let yourself enjoy the team you "root" for.

I think the Dodgers are slight favorites in this series, but that's it. I think it's going to be a fantastic series.

We were the best team in baseball this year at home to the tune of 56-25. I think there is a very good chance we will win at least one of the first two at home, if not both. It may be a bit too optimistic to think we will win both games 1 and 2, though I wouldn't be shocked, but the chances of us winning at least one of the two is quite high. Therefore, IMO the key is to win either game 3 or 4 in LA. If we can do that, I think we will win this series. I think our chances are somewhere in the 55% to 60% range.

I don't understand what's wrong with someone giving their honest opinion. Do we want Chipper to be a homer and pick us just because he played for us? He knows the game and knows how big of a challenge this series is going to be. Just because he's picking the Dodgers that doesn't mean he's pulling for them.

Chipper has to be a homer by default. Not kidding.

When you play almost two decades for one team... you're kind of obligated to just be a homer.

If this was Brian Jordan or Ryan Klesko, I probably wouldn't be that upset. But it's Chipper, who's basically Mr. Brave. I don't know why he did what he did.

I'd lose respect for him if he did that. Smoltz doesn't do it, why does Chipper have to? I don't want former players to say something if that's not how they feel.

Smoltz kind of can't do it, he has a contract to pretty much be neutral and be an analyst for baseball.

Chipper doesn't work for any organization or network, he's just retired.
