clvclv has made the journey beyond the Field of Dreams.

Yeah, I am not a stat freak superfan type but have been a baseball fan since I was 5 or 6, which is over 60 years.

Found the core of fans at whatever preceded scout.com/Bill Shanks, I forget the name of it. But clvclv was one of the cast all the way, I am sorry to hear that he will no longer be making posts and watching Braves games. RIP buddy.

Fanhome was the name before Scout.

I stumbled upon it December 2001 while googling "Atlanta Braves trade rumors".

clvclv preceded even that.

Sorry about CLV. We didn't agree on much but he was someone who would put things out even though he knew he would likely be attacked for it (sometimes rightly so). He stood by his convictions. And he had some good takes at times IMO. Hope he gets a luncheon with Neikro and the Hammer.

RIP. Damn.

It's getting to be enough to have a Wall of Fame or perhaps retire names or avatars.

Love this picture of him.

RIP
I couldn’t stand most of his novel like posts but I always admired his fandom and love for the Braves.
Life is short, no matter how much we disagree and bicker we all should remember that.
Love this board and wish all the members the best.
Don’t post a lot but been reading you all since the scout/shanks days.

RIP. It's always sad to lose a member of these communities, even if they are simply virtual forums.

It blows my mind to think how long I've been posting or how long some of you have been on these forums. For me it's got to be at least 23 years now. I still remember posting my interview with Dayton Moore back in 2002-2003 right before the Class A team moved from Macon to Rome. Funny to think back to those times (and how I'd consider the man a "dinosaur" now but how he was the up and comer back then). Man how time flies.

This bums me out. A lot of us are like family. Even argue like one. Lets win some games this year for him.

Man RIP.

Just an idea, but what about finding a game a season that we can all make an effort to make it to a game as a group? I know it would be hard for the out of state fans, but 1 game a season would be awesome.

I've said before, dinner on me if we all show up.

We almost got everyone together to go to Cooperstown for Maddux-Glavine-Bobby.

Would love to do this, but due to other travel obligations this summer I probably won't be able to make it.

If my son decides to go to Furman odds go up, at least if it's a later-season game.

I'd be willing to help the boss with the dinner expenses, even if I can't be there in person.

what makes me sad is we didn't know this for months after

That’s totally my fault…I had every intention of posting about it when I heard the news but was dealing with the loss of my mother around the same time and it just completely slipped my mind plus I have just recently started lurking again since the season is picking up…

We weren’t close friends but more so acquaintances , I have friends that knew him more especially those that play a lot of golf because he lived next to the golf course for years…I do remember swinging by his place once to go to a Super Bowl party years ago that some friends were at. I’m sure he’d be thrilled at all the kind words.
