College Football Thread

That's the committee's problem. I think Baylor belongs ahead of TCU anyway. If Baylor kills K-State, and FSU squeaks by Tech, would they have the balls to keep FSU out? Not to mention Ohio State, who's up 14-0 with a third-string QB right now? If they promoted TCU to No. 3 and then pushed them two spots back after a 40-point win, then maybe it's time to go back to the BCS.

52 pt win.

I think TCU is a better team right now, but Baylor beat them on the field.

I was impressed by how much TCU beat the shat out of Texas. Not that I expected Texas to beat them, but it was ugly.

It's really intriguing if everyone but FSU wins tonight.

Baylor- Best win: vs. TCU - Loss: Decent loss vs WVU

TCU- Best win: vs. Oklahoma - Loss: Great loss vs. Baylor

FSU - Best win: vs. Clemson - Loss: Good loss vs. Ga Tech

OSU - Best win: Vs. MSU - Loss: Bad loss vs Va Tech

Really tough call. I mean I might go with OSU because their worse loss was the week after their QB got hurt.

Well, that's why I advocated either 6, 7 or 8 teams to an extent. If this were a six-team thing, problem solved. But we all know better. It's college football. The first two or so teams out of any format are always going to be pissed and think they got the shaft.

I think there will be a strong push for 8 teams after this. I think all four of those teams deserve at least a chance in the playoffs if they all win tonight... and even if FSU loses they probably still deserve a shot.

Yeah I do think TCU is the better team with the better loss at this point. It's just really hard to get past them having the same record and Baylor having won head to head. Even if they were down by like 30 in that game, they still won.

Couldn't agree more

I think 6-8 is the right number to go with, but it's kind of a case of be careful what you wish for. I think I heard that they were tied into having a four-team playoff for at least a couple years. It almost certainly will be expanded to 6-8, but the NCAA would likely get greedy and eventually go to the FCS way of 16. And that would ruin this whole thing.

Wouldn't ruin it. Nothing like the rush to make travel plans Saturday night with all your buddies. Did it for years. Playoff
CFB is awesome

I think you could run it to 10 teams or even 12 with 2-4 byes. 8 is gonna be the next step though

8 would be fine.

16 would be beyond stupid.

Good start for GT but i think FSU eventually clamps down and wins.

I think 16 for FBS is overkill. I think 8 is a solid number, and they should stick to it when they make a jump.

This is going to be one of those whoever has the ball last games.

Wouldn't have thought I'd say the ACC championship would be more exciting than the SEC championship at the start of the year.

I'll be interested to see an adjustment they can make that clamps down the middle for the dive that doesn't leave the outside wide open.

You could do 8 or even 10 (2 byes?), max.

Yeah, maybe. I guess I should expect it to get even bigger and bigger, but it just runs the risk of diminishing the regular season.
