Think this game will be close for the majority of it, but Ohio State will pull away in the end.

Ohio State 33
VA Tech 20

The secondary played poorly for the Vols, but it was kind of a weird game. Willie Martinez was suspended and he's the one who sets the alignments for the secondary, so that had to play a huge role. Plus we should get a couple of good players back next week. And we didn't blitz but once. We'll know more after the Oklahoma game.

Also missed Todd Kelly Jr. the first half. Defense played much better once he came into the game. Evan Berry is not a good safety.

Also left 20 points on the field. 2 missed FGs and 2 TDs called back on penalties.

Hokies are cooked now with some backup quarterback being forced to play. Kid looks so scared out there.

So Ohio State's rough second quarter that led to them trailing at the half was only because Ohio State was being dumb? It had nothing to do with the Hokies actually stepping their defense up and in turn their offense fed off of it.

tOSU beat themselves in the 2nd quarter with stupid plays. Was Brewer playing going to stop tOSU offense?

Doesn't matter. Ohio State was still making ****ty plays, VA Tech was taking advantage and the stadium was rocking. I think Ohio State's offense would have outscored them eventually, but that injury completely took the wind out of the building and changed the entire complexion of the game. There is no denying that if you were watching.

You guys realize Brewer is terrible, right? tOSU was also winning when Brewer went out.

Yeah, pretty much.
Ohio St. is a far superior team in every area.
VT could've had Tebow at QB and it wouldn't matter.

And Brewer was marching up and down the field on them. Whether he's terrible is completely irrelevant.

3 plays, punt
6 plays 13 yards
6 plays 33 yards
6 plays 74 yards, td
7 plays 27 yards, FG
4 plays 38 yards, TD
7 plays, 32 yards

Really? He had 1 sustained drive and took advantage of a short field.

I didn't know you had to have a star at QB to get a win when you aren't favored. Someone didn't tell Va Tech that last year vs OSU I guess.

It wasn't a blowout when he went down and I don't think its a stretch to say it could have been a tight game.

We will never know. 45 was balling out there for Va Tech. That move on the OSU safety was awesome. I heard the announcer say he was a walk on that earned a scolly in a WEEK.

I never liked the Strong hire for you guys. He's an ok enough coach, but he's never been a great recruiter.

He sure was at UF...I just think he needs a core or area of black kids to recruit better. I also think he got a bit lucky with Bridgewater making him look better than he was.

I am sure I am the only UF fan here, but I was THRILLED with their opening game. This was the best they have looked in an opener that I can remember. I know the team they played was weak, but its not about that. Lots of schools played inferior teams. What I mean is that UF came out prepared, focused, and executed the best I have seen maybe ever. This week, and the following two will be nice jumps in talent from the opponent, so it will be nice to grow each week.

I think all UF fans have just grown so tired of the BS penalties game after game after game, as well as complete ineptitude on offense since 2008. I know its early, but I think McElwain is the next big name in college coaching, and will be a star. He gets it, his staff gets it, and his team has bought in.

I agree on Florida. I knew defense would be legit, but the offense was much better than expected.
