These games are often booked several years in advance. Tennessee booked the Oregon series in 2005, when Tennessee was still relevant under Phillip Fulmer, consistently ranked in top 25.

Even if Bama agreed to play MSU, they most likely wouldn't meet til 2022 at the earliest. And by then, Bama or MSU or both may not even be relevant in the national picture.

UGA played Clemson at Clemson in 2013 and plays Georgia Tech away every other year. UF plays FSU in the road every other year. Auburn played K. State last year away and will start home/away series with Clemson next year.

This is literally 3 of the first 5 teams I looked up. LSU and Bama have played legit OOC opponents as well lately, regardless where they are played.

Doubtful would play that soon if the agreement fell apart recently. Vast majority of OOC schedules are agreed upon several years in advance. And the 2016 schedules are mostly intact by now.

Well I am not 100 percent sure on exactly what season they were going to play, but now it doesn't matter. MSU does have two open dates within a couple weeks of the season starting the next two years which leads me to believe that's a result of a team flipping last minute. Either way it makes zero difference right now.

I'd rather see teams schedule good games in general. But I think it would be cool to see something like that. It would be similar to how the NFL sets up their schedulesm.

But I don't like the preseason ranking part of it. Florida wold have drawn someone like Rutgers or Iowa State preseason, while Michigan State would have drawn someone like Auburn. A random drawing would be more fair.

Yeah I agree the pre season ranking part of it wouldn't be the best idea, but it's an idea. I think we could come up with games that have built in story lines that would be very good games.

Michigan-LSU (Les)
Ohio State-Florida (Urban)
Penn State-Vanderbilt (James Franklin)
Indiana-Kentucky (Maybe a basketball game breaks out)
Illinois-Missouri (Border wars)

I am sure there might be some others that make sense, but that is a good starting point.

Most people are booked up by then. I wouldn't start knocking other teams soft schedules until you fill those spots. They will likely be the patsyiest of patsies.

There have been some fairly ****ty Big 10/ACC teams that won 11 games before.

Georgia has a home and home booked with Notre Dame and UCLA as well.

If North Carolina builds on its success this year, that 2016 season opener between them and UGA should be pretty good.

Cook is now a GTD. What a disaster of a football season this has been. Just so many injuries across the Spartans roster. It's amazing they were able to win 9 games.

They've been overrated all year and their fans tried to say they were just coasting. Wouldn't be surprised to see Harbaugh get their ass next week either. If Harbaugh wasn't a douche pickle, I would root for it.
