College Football Thread

I found this famous meme. I had no idea what this what all about. Rather lame actually.

I never said it was funny, just what it was. It wasn't like this was him shouting this while some chick was getting raped or something horribly cruel like that. It was him being a dumb kid and saying something that he was sure his friends would laugh at, and they probably did.

How does Clemson or any college team not have a competent under center goal line type offense?

Clemson lost because they couldn't run the ball one yard. Never an excuse to not be able to get one yard

None of my friends stole from grocery stores, raped girls, and shouted obscene comments while standing on top of tables, and went around shooting up apartment complexes with pellet guns while they were busy being 'dumb college guys'

Guy might just be a piece of crap.

To be fair, the rape allegation is just that. An allegation. While I won't be naive, I do think it's unfair to label him a rapist for something he was never convicted or even arrested for.

And I knew plenty of guys who did the other types of things. Hell, a lot of Fraternity rushes/initiations require worse/mor eridiculous things.

Quite a post game !

Like I said, we're not perfect. We're nowhere close. Couldn't be prouder of Cason Beatty tonight. When we struggled on offense, that guy hit big punts in big‑time situations when everybody is riding him, wanting to make a choice on him.

You know, sometimes in life you got to believe in people. If people don't believe in you, you're not going to get any better. You take their hope away. It's easy to criticize till you stand out there on the field and compete. I'm extremely proud of what he did, extremely proud of what he did.

My thoughts on this past week in college football:

The good:

3) Miss St. - Huge win for them. Not sure if they can win the west, but that was a really important win for them. But they needed that win to help cut off some of the momentum Ole Miss has been having lately in that state.

2) FSU - This was their most likely loss and they survived. Notre Dame will certainly present a challenge, but right now they look destined for the playoffs. Just a well coached game by Fischer.

1) Alabama - Should have won by more than they did. Maybe UF is just not good at all, but Bama made them look like a cupcake.

Lots of good this week compared to last week. Honorable mention goes to Indiana, Oklahoma, KSU and WSU.

The Bad:

3) Clemson - Great chance to beat FSU and they just blew it.

2) South Carolina - How bad is UGA feeling right now? Vandy is a horrific team this year and South Carolina nearly lost.

1) Mizzou - Heavens to Betsy.

Two more thoughts after Alabama's win against Florida.

I am so happy for Blake Sims. This is a guy who stuck it out backing up A.J. McCarron and who many (I admit, myself included) thought there was no way he would beat out Jake Coker. He has worked his butt off and has become the unquestioned leader of this offense. To hear the fans at Bryant-Denny Stadium give him the ovation he got after returning from the locker room after getting dinged up was awesome. The team loves him and completely back him.

Lane Kiffin: This guy has had his doofus moments to say the least in his coaching career. He knew that his reputation needed repairing and Nick Saban was the one head coach who could help him in that. So far, so good. Lane has done a great job, as evidenced by the incredible development of Sims as a quarterback. He knows offense, that's for sure. This was perhaps the one chance he had to repair his image and have hopes in returning to the head coaching business. He's taking full advantage of it.

After halftime he went 18/23, 179 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 187 passer rating. As bad as he was in the first half, we wouldn't have won the game without his play in the second half.

UF's offense put up almost 600 total yards, it was the blown coverages by the young secondary, not the offense that almost cost UF the game.

Still defending this guy or are you white flaggin it?
