College Football Thread

Yeah I realize that, but I still think it feels like a message from the committee to get 12 teams and have a playoff. Besides, only in sports does the Big 12 have 10 teams and the Big 10 have 12 teams.

Yes it was a clear Message. Also big 10 has 14 teams. Haha.

Well my rooting interests for the playoff are Oregon.

They have a good fan base and hot chicks galore. They haven't been completely caught cheating...yet.

Cotton Bowl against Baylor. The committee douche leader said they considered geography. Clearly they did. They gave Baylor a home game.

No SEC bias from the committee? Someone explain to me how Mississippi State moves up three spots by not playing a game. Yet Michigan State stays at number 8 and also did not play. It's clear the committee skewed rankings for the bowl games they wanted.

Weso I am curious to here your thouhts on this whole thing? Anyone else too. Trying to hear some non biased opinions. You all know where I stand.

Well the committee is who they are. There's not really a huge SEC bias there. In fact I think there's only one real SEC guy after Archie couldn't do it.

Not too mention Ole Miss jumped three spots by not playing. I understand teams lost in front of them. Why doesn't MSU get the same treatment?

I'm ok with it. Baylor and TCU didn't do enough to separate themselves from Ohio St. to really grump about it too much. They actually had a weaker SOS, but that's admittedly a bit misleading because the Big 12 beat up on each other a bit. And you just can't leave out an undefeated FSU team who just beat a good Georgia Tech team. Also, after today I think maybe the 4 team playoff really is the best thing. I mean it was pretty fun to argue who should get in.

Big 12 needs to fix their conference and join the rest of the 5 power conferences. They need more teams and a championship game.

I think the final four are correct. However it's pure rubbish to drop a team three spots after a 52 point win. Wildly inconsistent from the committee.

Have to say this:

As an Alabama fan, I could not be any prouder of Blake Sims. This guy started as a running back before moving to quarterback. Then sat behind A.J. McCarron for a couple of years. Then, Jake Coker comes over from Florida State and hardly anyone, myself included, gave him a shot at winning the starting QB job. Through it all, he never complained once, staying a team player. He busts his butt, improves his game, wins the starting job, and not only that, leads Alabama to the SEC Championship and wins the game MVP. He proved me and many other Alabama fans completely wrong. Hopefully, he can finish this amazing run with a national title.

I think they got the top four right. With apologies to all my friends in Texas and Oklahoma, I don't the the Big 12 is all that great. Of course, the same argument can be made about the bottom half of the Big 10.

Ohio State has a ton of top drawer athletes and I think their game with Bama is going to be a real throwback. Two very physical football teams.

How is the reaction from Bama fans about Bear Jr. ruining the UAB football program?

You know, I figured I'd hear more from Bama fans crushing him for this and its been awfully quiet.

I really thought you would hear outrage from their own people on this. Pretty sorry.

I can't root against Bama hard enough for that.

Here is the video from the speech from Watts telling the players they are done:

They are keeping it silent. And I am rooting hard against Bama as well, bc this is a shame.

The only person I've heard a peep from is AJ McCarron supporting UAB football.
