College Football Thread

I had a feeling USC would show up to play tonight. We'll see if it holds.

Tech pushing FSU as well.

It's always these weeks that seem like a dud going in where crazy things happen.

Notre Dames playoff chances improved tonight. They beat both teams (USC and g tech) who beat top 10 teams tonight and they still have three more top 25 teams to play.

Utah got a wake up call tonight. This is the type of game you are occasionally going to have if you're in a real conference. If you don't show up every night you're going to get embarrassed. And no team ever shows up every night. The teams with the most talent and coaching survive those type of games.

Good game, Vols. That was a great football game between two great rivals.

I thought it was a good football game. I thought both teams played a good game and mistakes were at a minimum. I knew we'd give you guys a game. We're literally a few plays away from being undefeated against a very tough schedule.

This loss would be much more bearable had we not shat the bed vs Florida at the end of the game.

Roll? Don't think that's gonna happen. You probably haven't watched a series of Michigan State play this year.

Yes i have. They should have one lose due to Michigan. Barrett is a far superior QB than Cardale Jones is right now. Barrett makes OSU a lot better than they were with Cardale under center

Well they don't have a loss and right now that's all of that matters. Barrett is great, but that's not what I am debating.

It really was a good game. I do think Tennessee is better than what their record indicates, but things tend to happen over the course of a season. Tennessee's defensive front had a good game. They made it tough on Coker at times. There were moments I wished Jake threw the ball away, but Tennessee got pressure on him a lot. Probably helped the Vols had an off week to prepare for Bama. They played with a lot of energy and there were many times Bama didn't have that energy and intensity. Coach Saban made a big point to say that.

Proud of the way Coker responded on the winning drive and two great catches by Stewart and Ridley (who as a true freshman is having the same impact Amari Cooper did three years ago almost).

Again, good game Vols.

Notre Dame is going to have a decent chance to make it in. Their schedule is weak until the last game of the season when they play at Stanford. If they win that last game and take care of business before that game then they'll likely make it in.

They have the ESPN gameday again this weekend against Temple, which helps. Who would have ever thought that Gameday would be at Temple?

They shouldn't. In fact they really shouldn't be anywhere near the conversation until they actually join a conference.
