College Football Thread

Wow at the ending to that game. I had just gotten off work and my dad called me saying Alabama had 1 second left with a shot to win the game. Then he starts going "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god auburn just returned the field goal 100 yards to win the game and no I'm not s**tting you." My dad likes messing with me so I was stunned it actually happened.

I said it a year ago when Malzahn was hired that it was the best move Auburn could've made. Dude can coach. I wanted him at my alma mater (Nebraska) years ago when he was a coordinator at Tulsa. Hell of a turnaround by him and his staff. Chizik looks more and more awful every game that passes.

2 in a row for Duke football over UNC. 10 win season and next week they get to go up against #1 ranked FSU. I fully expect Winston to get charged this week, suspended and then Duke somehow pull off the miracle of miracles next week. Team of destiny or some jazz like that. /end dreaming In all seriousness, if Duke keeps it within 30, I'll be impressed. Cutcliffe = god.

Chizik also won a national title his 2nd year in Auburn.

In my town people are learning the perils of deitizing a 19 year old QB -- first time away from home.

College football is nuts -- but boy was it entertaining today

True. But when people are telling someone to die and drink bleach among other things because he missed field goals in a football GAME, it tends to be embarrassing.

Telling him to die is messed up...

The other stuff doesnt surprise me, figured that would happen.

Zito you need to get out of this thread. Clearly you know nothing about college football if you thought tO$U were still on a bow ban.

Most people are not in tune with what good football is, that's why they hate on the B1G. Solid teams with legit defenses and offenses that have to play these defenses means the whole conference sucks. I am not saying Michigan State could beat anyone in the country, but with that defense they would most certainly have a good shot. Can't wait for next Saturday! I really feel like the Spartans are destined to make it to Pasadena.

Well, I was afraid this was going to happen. Apparently, Cade Foster has been getting threats on Twitter and has deleted his account. Absolutely pathetic and completely classless.

It's unfortunate that these things happen.

But I admire the class you bring to the table in a stinging loss. Alabama is still great.

But I feel ya, losing to Stanford a few weeks back felt a little like this.

Great to see the true Alabama fans supporting Foster. A Facebook page was started to support Cade Foster last night. Gotten over 25,000 likes. If I was on Facebook, I'd be on there as well.

The Rose Bowl is the obvious goal, but a close loss against an unbeaten Buckeyes team should keep the Spartans in the BCS bowl game discussion. Rumor has it the Rose Bowl wants to keep the Pac/Big as the match up because of the anniversary game. In this scenario Ohio State wins and goes to title game, does MSU lose and still play in the Rose? I don't buy that because we've been screwed over in the past.

If Ohio State wins, they should get in the BCS Championship, although I have read suggestions that if Auburn beats Missouri, they COULD pass OSU, which wouldn't be right. The Rose Bowl loves its tradition of Pac 12 vs. Big Ten. So if Ohio State does get into the title game, I think Michigan State is a good bet to get into the Rose Bowl.

I really think if Auburn wins next week they will pass OSU and get into the national championship game. Not sure if Mizzou will get in though if they win next week.

Bama lost due to a poor kicker at Auburn. Bama beats them 9/10 if they replay that game. And they don't lose that game at home either.

Mizzou is going to spank Auburn I think. Mizzou has the best defense in the SEC, imo. And their offense is as good or better than Auburn's.

Who the hell else from the Big 10 would they put in? Good grief, what an awful conference. I'm all in on the Spartans, hope they wax the Buckeyes.

Yeah it's a bad conference because teams play defense. I love whenever a top team in the SEC or Pac 12 lose it's because the conference is so good. If a team loses in the B1G it's because they are weak.

And no, every game my team (Georgia) lost this year was because they couldn't defend a damn 3rd down pass to save their lives. Not because the SEC was almighty.

I'd rather stash Murray. But I think both go in the first 3 rounds. Teams with older QBs (Pats, Broncos, Saints) would be wise to go with those types.

The Pats have Mallet and the Broncos have Osweiler.

It would be criminal for Auburn to pass Ohio State.
