Conservative Thought

If you’re a red-blooded American liberal who follows the news closely, you probably have a lot of preconceived notions about Ryan, the Wisconsin congressman and chairman of the House Budget Committee. You might think he’s a wild-eyed Ayn Rand devotee hell-bent on dismantling the safety net, and that the top action item on his daily planner is to give to the rich and take from the poor, like a cackling reverse Robin Hood.

Here is one take on Ryan's proposal

The idea of Paul Ryan being a devotee of Ayn Rand is laughable

Ryan makes a lot of noise about how he's a fan of Ayn Rand and makes his staffers read Atlas Shrugged, but I mainly think that is posing on his part. To me, he's trying to create an image that he has some intellectual street cred and this is part of it. He also hangs with the Reformicons (led by conservative thinker Yuval Levin) in an effort to create an image that he's a deep thinker. I frankly don't know how deep his thinking is, but I don't think his rhetoric matches his proposals to a great extent. He's not the most consistent horse in the stable, but lack of consistency is a shared value across the political spectrum.

a) In the year 2014, intelligence is measured in dollars and cents?

b) Psychology Today does not conduct polls.

one may reasonably define liberalism (as opposed to conservatism) in the contemporary United States as the genuine concern for the welfare of genetically unrelated others and the willingness to contribute larger proportions of private resources for the welfare of such others.

There is science and charts etc.

hmmmmm

foot in mouth disease, you have.

Since blacks for the most part the poorest and lack intelligence because they by race do not graduate from high school according to whites, this means non Dems are the smartest.

K, I understand now.

Does anyone else wonder why CNN thinks it's productive to have Newt Gingrich, Dick Cheney, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Michele Bachmann as regular pundits on their network? Do they really think that's going to make their viewers take them seriously?

Oh dear, the total combine IQ of that bunch might make it to triple digits. I wouldn't watch that schit even if you gave me the Clockwork Orange keeping my eyes open treatment.

I see three certified idiots and one guy who I feel bad for because he is lumped in that group.

You again, miss the point by making, again, a lazy false equivalency. But hey ...

A good research project for you might be to see the work schedule of this congress and the congress under (D) then report back on who does and doesn't do what.
OR, you can continue to make lazy un informed statements and pass them off as thought out opinions.

Kinda like something I'd expect from the Jody Hice . Which is the point of the whole thread --

Obama blames congress. Congress blames Obama.

Question, why should republicans help Obama when they oppose what he is trying to do?

Because to oppose Obama is to oppose minorities, women, poor people, gun victims, baby seals, trees, etc.

(BTW, a shorter/smaller work schedule would make me more likely to vote for a party. The fewer brilliant ideas were subjected to out of Congress, the better. I'm rooting for Obama to get a bj from an intern so they'll leave the rest of us alone while they kill time trying to impeach him. Best economic stimulus they can provide.)

They are more than welcome to oppose. In fact encouraged to oppose. It is their elected duty to express opposition if they oppose.

However , their responsibility as legislators or statesmen if they oppose is to provide an alternative.
Fist shaking at Obama is not a legislative / governing alternative.

Hope you didn't lose sleep coming up with that gem
