CrimsonCowboy's 2014 NFL Mock Draft

IfWardcan't play FS the Falcons would be dumb to take him. THey need a FS not a safetybecause Willy Mo is one of the best in the game.

FS is really the need. No starters on the roster at this point. Can't guarantee a post camp cut would even be there or useful. I would look at the Nebraska CB with the 6'2 size if we can't get a FS ready to play. Baptiste I think?

I think Dennard goes a bit lower and OBJ goes a tad higher, but I like that draft for ATL. I don't think we target TE this year either unless its a late developmental guy. Just too many needs.

I could live wit that draft. Still not sure if Ward can play FS, if he can't, I think Tuitt is the guy. Seems like a pretty ideal 3-4 DE.

Not bad at all, don't hate it. Fills needs for Atl. OL went early so not minding the Ward pick . At that point he is a steal, covers very well but a tad small. Makes a lot of plays.

Like the Cowboys draft.
I can say as someone who lives in Philly, there's no way Shazier is the Eagles' pick at #22. They are going S or WR no doubt.

IfWardcan't play FS the Falcons would be dumb to take him. THey need a FS not a safetybecause Willy Mo is one of the best in the game.

Ward can play FS.

Good ball-skills, can play inside at nickel as well, really underrated prospect.

Chances Barr falls to 16? Would love him in Dallas.

For whatever reason, his stock is supposedly falling and i have no idea why.

He's an excellent player.

But if he was there, would be a no-brainer.

I'd hate that mock for Den.

If they are gonna go DT, just take Dom Easley, woulda been a top 15 pick if he didnt hurt his knee. Or just take Moses and plug him in right away.

I'd go Moses, Easley, Gaines, Norwood and Exum.

And Yankey in the 5th?

Would love that saints draft to happen. Never heard of the 2 players taken in the 5th but the first 4 rounds are gold.

Five trades that could happen in the 1st round (my opinion only):

49ers/Buccaneers:
San Francisco is sitting at #30 and have big needs at DB. They also have several draft picks after the 1st. They have two in the second and three in the 3rd round, so they have the picks to make a big move. A big jump could net them Gilbert, Dennard, or Clinton-Dix. Tampa Bay has several needs and a trade down could help fill those. They would have to be intrigued at the notion of getting at least an additional second and third round selection.

Jets/Titans:
Even with the signing of Eric Decker, the Jets still need to get a top notch WR in the draft. Watkins is probably out of the question, but they can trade up to get Evans or Beckham if they choose. If Barr is off the board by the time the Titans are on the clock, trading down to gain an additional pick could interest them. Tennessee does not have a third round pick.

Browns/Cowboys:
This would involve Cleveland's pick at #26. If the Browns go QB at #4, a WR would be next on their checklist. There is a chance that all the big four receivers (Watkins, Evans, Beckham, Lee) could be off the board, so a trade to get one of them would be necessary. They could also look at OG Zack Martin. The Browns also have multiple picks. They have seven in the first four rounds. The Cowboys have several needs, especially on defense. Dallas hardly ever stays in the same slot on draft night. If either Donald or Clinton-Dix are still on the board, they could stay at #16 and pick one of those two. However, it seems likely both will be gone, perhaps upping the chances of Dallas trading down.

Saints/Cardinals:
To me, the player who could be a perfect fit for the Saints and their needs is Alabama LB C.J. Mosley. However, with teams like the Packers Eagles, and Browns ahead of them, the chances of them getting him while staying at 27 seems remote. A trade to #20, barring any of those teams trading up, put them ahead of those three. Arizona could move down seven spots and still be in position to fill a need. Gaining a pick would also be a plus.

Patriots/Chiefs:
New England has needs at DE, DT, and DB. While they can fill that need at 29, they may look to go up and seek quality. The Chiefs have a huge need at WR, but the top four will likely be gone and others picked at 23 could be a reach. Also, the fact Kansas City doesn't have a second round pick could be a motivation to trade down.

Chances Barr falls to 16? Would love him in Dallas.

Tenn will take Barr in all likelihood. We took a WR early last yr so Evans/Beckham is likely not an option. Wiz already came out and said we aren't going RB or CB in the 1st round. We're moving to a 3-4 and Donald is more of a 4-3 DT than a 3-4 end. Unless we trade out of this pick I don't see anyway in which we would pass on Barr.

Agree with Carp. While I think there could be a chance he falls to Dallas, in reality, I don't think Tennessee lets him get by, if he falls that far.

Trading out of the pick is still my preferred choice however. Especially if San Fran wanted Gilbert, Dix, or Beckham and they wanted to give us their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks.

So unless someone trades up, looks like Clowney 1 and Robinson 2 most likely. After that it's all up in the air except Bortles/Manziel and Watkins are likely to go in the 3-5 range. Hopefully 2 QBs or Matthews goes there so Mack is there at 6 but it's looking like most likely Matthews to the Falcons. Hopefully someone wants to trade up to the Falcons pick. Don't know why though unless Watkins fell.

Probably have to get to 6 to have a shot at Evans. Also any team wanting to move up for a falling QB with TB, Minny on our heels. Also, hearing lots more that Mack goes first.
