I’d suggest the latter. While this has been extremely successful for Trump, it’s hardly out of character for him, so I see no need to be disappointed in him just as I’d see not reason to be disappointed in a dog for barking at another dog.

A few years ago I was asked to teach a course on crypto, blockchain technology and some other financial innovations. A couple students objected to my characterization of cryto along the lines of the tweet above. So I told them they could give the last two lectures. Which they did, offering a more positive take on crypto. I just sat quietly in the back listening with some popcorn.

Curious. Did you ever reach out to these guys? Did they ignore you and become rich? If they didn't, did you apologize? Did you ask them to help you self reflect and learn from your idiocy?

How does an academic improve? I understand there is no competition to prove yourself, so curious how you make yourself better
 
My self-reflection is that crypto to ivermectin analogy is not apt. I overlooked the fact that it does have a fundamental value--related to the desire for opacity when conducting certain transactions. It is something I did not fully appreciate.

They're ok considering they are mostly children of various branches of the royal families ruling Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Your concern for their well-being is touching and duly noted.
