The wildest part to me is that this already happened *before* tweets like this one. This situation is so ****ed that someone got a $30 million payday and they’re still trying to figure out when the “real scam” happens.

What if people are really buying for the opportunity to be part of "history." And willing to pay the price. We shouldn't assume we know people's motivations in participating in something like this. It might not be the usual profit motive.

There is a mindset that mirrors this but in the end they will lose. Maybe most are just buying a couple hundred bucks worth to hold.

Look man, I know where you’re going with all this, but I absolutely have empathy for people who were conned into this. Someone doesn’t have to lose tens of thousands of dollars for a purchase at the wrong time today to have determined whether or not they could pay their rent in a couple weeks, and the President that told them he was fighting for them is walking away with the bag. Unlike some of my brethren on the left, I don’t take joy in Donnie pulling one over on the people who have bought into his pitch. The world is a tough place, and a lot of people aren’t well equipped to know when they’re being conned.

Even if one person clicked a link and keyed in their debit card to buy $100 of $TRUMP because they thought it was going to help the country or be a good investment opportunity for them, that’s heartbreaking ****. Most people aren’t crypto degens who are taking (not necessarily properly) calculated risks, they’re cashiers at Walmart trying to find a way to not struggle. Donald Trump and his family have chosen to take money directly from these people and turn it into a quick $35 million payday for someone connected to the project. That ****ing sucks, and I won’t pretend it doesn’t just because they were willing to do it.

How does someone get conned into this. Are people conned into dropping some money at the blackjack table.

If it is a con I'd rather it be this kind of con. Four years ago some of the same people were conned into thinking they had to charge into the Capitol to save the country. We're making progress. Of sorts.

I agree with that. But I think MAGA has a TON of well meaning people who work hard don't have a lot of money and have put their blind faith in a man.

That is their fault. But desperate dumb people looking for someone to save them are susceptible. And these guys think Donald Trump singularly saved western civilization while also locking down the country I feel bad for the truly dumb ones. I get frustrated with the smart ones who would rather change what they believe on a daily basis then admit they've been conned

Because most people don’t understand the extremely speculative nature of the asset and they assume both that the President of the United States is not asking them to buy into something that will crash in value in 15 minutes, and that the market is not so unregulated that insider trading is an entire part of the game. These people are not crazy for trusting the President of the United States to be acting in good faith.

I dunno, man. In order to have been “duped” into storming the Capitol to suit Trump’s agenda, you had to make the decision to commit an actual crime. This time you just had to key in your debit card to a link the President sent you.
