Death Penalty - Your thoughts

These two should suffer the same fate they put their child through. At their age we would pay millions of dollars for them to get 3 squares a day and a place to sleep. I don't think the dad will live long, child murderers usually end up dead while guards look the other way.

I am for the Death Penalty if there is absolutely no doubt and in this case there was no doubt. But the way you are put the death should be the same way you did the crime.

I'm pro death penalty. I'd have no problem with people going before the firing squad.

No reason that any person should ever do life in jail. From a fiscal perspective life in jail makes no sense

The death penalty is just as costly, if not more so, than life in prison because of the years and years of appeals that go along with a death sentence, not to mention the cost of imprisoning someone in a maximum security prison versus the alternative.

With that said, I go back and forth on it but I'm absolutely pro-death penalty in cases involving kids.

Kids and fatally raped women.

That's a good point, but it can also be used as a means of negotiating a quick guilty admission so you can save money that way. Save money on the trial.

I'm for it, but I understand why some are against it. I don't understand why some seem to make it such an important issue though. To me it's really not that big of an issue.

In cases of premeditated, heinous crimes, the death penalty needs to be pushed hard. In this case, the couple made a conscious decision to.torture and kill this child.

I like to see which of the fellers what don't trust the gummint to do the simplest thing, trust them with the literal power to end a citizen's life.

Too bad we can't use cruel and unusual punishment like hanging him up by his dick and dump him and her in a desert with no food and water within a 100 miles. A child deserve better than that.

Like they did that child. What punishment you suggest that would not tax our limited monies of housing this filth for 60 more years of their life at 40k a year?

it's pretty simple. the gov't shouldn't have the right to kill its citizens. period

it costs more than just locking them up as well

next question

That's a strawman and it's a jury who typically decides these cases not the government.

This.

But I guess Goldfly is down with douchebags that tortured a child they brought in this world and go unpunished is fair for the child. It's not like he can raise from the dead and take its vengeance on them, you probably be against that as well. That's okay Kimbo Slice will do the deed while he rots in prison and pray he hopes for a quick death unlike torturing his son.

Gummint makes the arrest, makes the charge, assembles the case, seeks the penalty, makes the case, hears the appeal, carries out the sentence.

I think we should have two levels of punishment - 1. A fine for most crimes 2. Death penalty for all others. - Can completely do away with prisons. Will still need police, so you can use the jails for those few on death row. Economy would rebound. No lifelong offenders. No growing up in the system. I think it would work wonders.

I guess there would still be some lifelong offenders...just would be a considerably shorter life.

I disagree dalyn. You think people that steal, rob, etc could afford to pay a fine in most cases? What happens when they don't pay that fine?

Punishments should be worse to deter crimes not slaps on the wrists.

Since it depends on the state, if you want to murder a child for fun or inconvenience and get three free meals a day, TV, amenities, do it in a state that doesn't have the death penalty, problem solved. But, when you do murder someone, there is good chance that an evil lookalike named Kimbo Slice that might shank you to death for killing innocent little kids.

Just don't do it in Texas, you guarantee to get strung up.
