Both teams will go hard for game 1, but if the Mets win, they should use position guys to pitch the whole 2nd game. They want the braves to make it, so they get to go to brewers.

In conclusion, it's braves and Mets, guaranteed.
 
And if we lose game 1, don't use sale. Recognize the Mets gain nothing with a win. In fact, they punish themselves with a sweep... they gotta go to SD
 
Both owners should be on the phone right now agreeing to each forfeit a game. Mets can stay put in Milwaukee and avoid all the crazy travel. Braves can use the off day to get to San Diego and have Sale lined up for game 1 rather than burn him in the DH. Cohen can cut a check to the Braves for the lost gate. Manfred looks like an ***hole, and the DBacks get screwed, but tough. And don’t tell me it’s bad karma, because if baseball gods actually existed, the Yankees wouldn’t have 27 rings.

If this is possible, it should happen. Doubt they can though
 
Go Schwelly Game 1, and Game 2, hope you win and dont have to burn Sale? If Mets win Game 1, could they actually forfeit Game 2 lol?
 
Even ignoring the travel/matchups for WC, whoever wins Game 1 still probably shouldn't use any pitchers in Game 2 that are going to be on the playoff roster. Situation almost dictates a split. Would rather take Game 1, though.
 
Just putting this out there as a thought. If Schwellenbach and Sale both pitch tomorrow they are both going to be out for the WC round. If Sale pitches game 1 it decreases the likelihood of needing to burn both pitchers.
 
AJSS and Bryce Elder both better be on the shuttle to Atlanta tonight. If we win game 1, they need to piggy back those 2 guys in game 2.

Then you use a position player. I wouldn't use 1 guy that will make the playoff roster
