Do you remember me and him debating trading Alex Wood? While so many here say he is always "positive" he was not that high on Wood and was in favor of trading him. I argued with him on that and took the position that Wood had ace potential. However, I had been saying that about Wood going all the way back to drafting him. Of course, thethe got his wish as not long after that the Olivera trade happened. Speaking of that draft, it was the first time I got exactly what I wanted as far as our first two picks (Sims and Wood).

I always loved Alex as well. I just always felt and still do that he is ticking time bomb and that we should have traded him to get value. We just ended up trading him for a sack of ****.

The whole debacle was dumb. Wood should have been traded from the start of the rebuild to get future assets.

Ok so you want to compete in 2017? Keep wood as he would be a big part of the rotation that year.

So what do they do? Trade Wood and a top 50 prospect for a 30 year old unknown. Just made no logical sense which describes a lot of the moves under the Hart and coppy era.

I have no idea whether he'll ever turn into a "valuable player" or not, but I will say that believing he will and then *hitting on anyone that believes Swanson has a chance to turn things around is more than a little bit disingenuous.

Actually it is possible to differ in one's assessment of two players without being disingenuous...even without being a little bit disingenuous.

define "very valuable."

come to think of it, if pache doesn't hit at all, his bat could end up looking like peraza's. except it seems he'll be a great defender while peraza isn't.

I feel responsible for starting this thethe crapfest and it really wasn't my intention. It seems productive to discuss current prospects in this way. I don't see any value in looking all the way back to guys like Williams Perez to criticize a guy over. This is a fan message board, if a fan can't be optimistic here then there's not much point to it.
