Didier Fuentes Stuff?

I often sit closer to scouts because it's cheap to go to games. I'm not the only one who thinks his splitter is good or going to be....That said I still maintain his splitter (while possibly being a developing pitch is a good pitch). I do think it can be the difference in him developing into a very good starter or backend guy. One way or the other, WHEN he throws it more than 3 times in a game...we will have a better view of it.
I agree. I said yesterday that his other two pitches graded out as plus and elite. So he doesn't need an elite splitter for it to be effective. He just needs something that is a hard thrown breaker and like Cheff said, just drop the sweeper because his Curve is soo much better.

I didn't get to watch him last time because of a stupid stuffed mouse and a bunch of skee ball games. So I am pretty excited to take a bike a part and watch the game with maybe a little makers on the side..

You and Ensheff make good points. This year he wasn't throwing his splitter that much in the minors, but he also threw a shorter slider in the minors and I did not see that in his debut. To Enscheffs other point he needs to speed up pitch mix pretty quickly but likely won't in the majors so early. I think it makes him a1-2 trick pony and it’s also why I like for them to cook a little bit longer in the minors.

I think you see why he's highly regarded though. His development is close to my eyeball scouting success 😂😂😂

Schwellenbach has such a good feel for so many pitches that I'd let them work together on one more good pitch. As young as he is he still has plenty of time. This experience he is getting in the majors right now couldnt be better. This is the best thing for him so he can see how his stuff plays up here and what he needs to work on. He has better teachers up here bc I saw Sale holding a baseball beside him the other day talking to him. That stuff is beyond valuable.

Yes and no. I love the experience he'll get, but I like to see success a little more consistently in the minors. (My inner old man kicks in I guess). The one good thing I can say about him and AJSS, is that their composure was always incomparable. I've written enough about Didier. Lol. He definitely is going to be getting valuable experience.

Didier was doing things with the fastball that seemed advanced for a guy who just turned 20. Plus fastballs up and plus curves down can get a lot of outs.

Didier just explained his splitter. Like I said. This kid...
4-seam FB
CB - Spikes it. After the FB
Sweeper - is not a Sweeper, it's a slider.
Splitter - Throws it like his FB. Ever since he was a kid he's thrown it.
