It is correct to say every single Trump supporter I ever came across looked at me with a blank stare when I asked that very simple question. In fact, I have to assume Trump himself didn't know those facts as evidenced by him thinking his executive decrees were actual laws.

I feel confident in saying that at least 80% of the population would fail your test. That number is about equally distributed between the two mainstream parties.

If I get a blank stare I say “bicameral legislature”, and most intelligent people are able to infer the meaning based on context.

If I still get a blank stare I offer the final lifeline of “two chamber”. The actual word “bicameral” doesn’t really matter.

If I still get nothing other than a babbling reply, I just change the subject to how nice the weather is.

As someone who used to be a registered republican, and is now registered independent, I’m confident when I say the ignorance is more heavily concentrated on one side.

Republicans have always wanted a citizenship test in order to vote while democrats have fought it. That pretty much tells you what you need to know.

I didn’t say dumb people shouldn’t vote. I said I won’t bother discussing politics with them.

Yes, it keeps uninformed voters from voting which is usually on the left side. The "racist" element that your side keeps crying about is a distraction similar to how you cry "homophobic" when someone makes fun of you in a way that you can't handle.
 
Means-testing is a bad idea, whether it’s for voting or a helping-hand or posting on a message-board.

But I thought I quit posting on the politics subforum ...

Hmm...

The 2nd amendment doesn’t say “you have the right to bear arms as long as those arms aren’t scary to people who don’t own guns.”

Several amendments deal with the right to vote, and none of them say “you can’t vote if you’re stupid”.

If you agree with only one of those statements you are being disingenuous and/or self serving.
