Dodgers game 3: wake up braves!

Orlando Arica now has an entire Statcast page, and it is a beauty: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/orlando-arcia-606115

His average exit velocity is the highest it’s ever been. He has his first big increase last year when he was finding sustained success before getting hurt. His swing change and adjustments were real. His barrel % has also been increasing by quite a lot year after year. No his BABIP isn’t sustainable but dude’s xwOBA of .368 is fantastic. Striker is wrong on Arcia. He’s a new player the last couple years when healthy and his savant page suggests he’s still growing.

The Braves just finished a 17 game stretch against BAL, BOS, TOR, TEX, SEA, LAD and went 8-9. And they could’ve easily went 9-8 or 10-7.

The pitching staff does have question marks, but you guys were really under-selling the quality of this team during this series.

From what I can see, it appears the Braves have played the toughest schedule among NL teams so far.

Dansby being 89th percentile in chase rate is insanely shocking to me

What's surprising to me is that Swanson is currently the best hitter (although Bogaerts is right there with him) among the big name SS free agents from last year.

Seager and Semien are hitting substantially better than any of them. Guess the Rangers were right when they targeted those 2 instead of any of last years group.

That is the toughest stretch of baseball I can ever remember the Braves playing, schedule-wise. 17 straight against winning teams plus Sea. 33 of the Braves first 49 games have been against either winning teams or playoff teams from last year, including those 17 straight with four more to go. That is kind of insane. The Braves are 16-17 in those games, and 14-2 against the rest.

It's been rough out there. Schedule starts to ease up tremendously starting tonight. Starting with the Phillies and going all the way through the Guardians series ending on July 5th. The Braves only play 6 games against teams currently with a positive run differential. 3 against the Twins and Dbacks. I have a feeling Braves are about to make a good run.

Agree.

Of course, as others have said, he's known for being hot and cold. Could just be hot.

And the issue with signing him wasn't this year, it was his production in his mid to late 30s on a 7 year deal.

Arcia.....I expect to crash. He wouldn't have signed that extension if he thought he was a starting SS, not to mention an actual impact starting SS.

Get Maple Maddux back, fix Harris, make Ozzie swing right handed only, trade for a couple bullpen pieces at the deadline, and we got a stew going boys.

I don't feel like the 3-9 combined record against Houston, SD, and LA can be ignored considering those are three teams that truly stand between the Braves and the ring.
