US Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk on Tuesday appeared to walk back the Trump administration’s claim that the previous administration allocated $50 million in condoms for Gaza.

The figure was first cited by the White House to justify a sweeping freeze on foreign aid that the Trump administration imposed, though the claim was swiftly dismissed as a “feverish dream” by a former senior Biden administration official.

“Some of the things I say will be incorrect and should be corrected,” Musk replied. “Nobody is going to bat 1,000. We will make mistakes, but we’ll act quickly to correct any mistakes.”

“I’m not sure we should be sending $50 million dollars worth of condoms anywhere… I’m not sure that’s something Americans would be really excited about. That really is an enormous number of condoms,” he continued.

“If it were to Mozambique instead of Gaza, that’s not as bad, but still… why are we doing that?” Musk asked.

Trump, who said last week that Musk discovered that “$100 million dollars” was earmarked by the Biden’s administration for “condoms to Hamas,” did not similarly retract his claim.

Is it not? Musk and Trump weren’t just wrong about this, they were so wrong about it that it either had to have been something they deeply misread, a false account they read online or a number they just outright lied about. Correcting the record is a reasonable thing to do when someone is that wrong about something, no?

I don't think they were wrong about anything. Their schtick is to make **** up. They'll move on to the next big thang like 300-year-old people receiving social security benefits.

For me personally, I’m finding any joy I can in at least pointing out your side is doing the a lot of the same exact **** you vilified Biden for, but with policies or stances you just so happen to agree with. After being told I had paper values for years, it’s fun to watch you flip the switch.

Someone mistook the Gaza Strip for a province in Mozambique that was called Gaza as well.

Big ****ing whoop.

A lot of condoms and our money went there instead of Gaza.

Do u understand that 50 million dollars went down the toilet is the point and not the place it went to?
