Any agency that was set up to clean up federal wate prior to 2025 clearly wasn't working no matter what it was called or what it was supposed to do.

I’m genuinely not suggesting nothing be cut and would be willing to accept a legal process to shut down the USAID or Department of Education or whatever Republicans aim to reduce. I won’t agree with all of it, but I won’t claim it illegal. What’s happening now is illegal. A vast majority, if not all of the controversial USAID payments making the rounds are not signs of embezzlement or fraud on behalf of the Treasury Department. They’re largely right-wing grievances being phrased as fraud. But the way in which they’re pulling the plug on certain things *is* illegal. Elon is being given access that should require more oversight. Trump is daring anybody to stop him, much like Biden did with some of his acts.

But Trump could just staff *that* department with his guys and go to town alongside a Republican Congress.

Don't be confused. People that voted for Trump want us to end all unncessary funding to foreign countries when America can't take care of it's own. There is a certain % of the population that has been begging for that for a long time. Seems like the country is finally taking a step in that direction.
