On a related note, the whole CDC freeze thing is something I just don’t understand. There is a lot of middle ground in between COVID lockdowns and pretending that bad flus don’t exist that should be vigorously tracked and prepared for. Do we just think viruses stopped mutating or something?

Corporate layoffs are historically pretty unpopular in the workplace, so I’m not sure it’s politically ineffective to highlight similar cuts being done by your political opponents.

mutating virus is good because ALL virus mutates to be less deadly and more contagious... pushing out more deadly virus
this is how virus survives
its science
So you are in favor of what, exactly with it
Poors deserve nothing
I’m not in favor of it because it’s very bad policy. But if a government is going to do a very bad policy anyway, I’m down with it at least being a bad policy that gives money to some poor people in the process.
Good news: they don’t have much more than that actually, even when we spend public money on keeping them from dying.
I mean, not for all the people that die in the meantime. Regardless of what happened with COVID that was right or wrong, viruses are still a serious threat to humanity that need to be studied proactively.
