Do you think Canada’s market is unfair, or are their prices also artificially low due to slave labor? Because this isn’t just a US-China issue. We slapped the tariffs on them too.

This is a giveaway to a special interest group, nothing more or less.

I’m actually moving towards a viewpoint where I look at North America as a whole. I wouldn’t as easily support tariffs on Mexico or Canada.

"Supply chain nationalism" is something that there seems to be close to a national consensus on in the wake of covid-19. The problem is that the definition is going to be stretched in ways that will encourage protectionist practices about all sorts of products that are not really crucial to national security.

Just impose 25% tariffs on all imports containing steel or aluminum too, or better yet, all imports. The journey won't be easy, but it's the only way to restore several lost industries.

No doubt. The trend is to redefine things under banners that poll well. Everything is now infrastructure and everything is national security.

Lol

Norwegian Cruise Line is threatening to keep its ships out of Florida ports after the state enacted legislation that prohibits businesses from requiring proof of vaccination against Covid-19 in exchange for services.

Shorting Tesla has been a good play so far. Down 11% so far this year. Meanwhile, the S&P500 is up 11% year to date.

Long with insurance. But up nearly 300% on it.

All of tech taking a hit now. Prudent to have insurance. Especially when you don't want to take short term gains

My thought on Tesla is the auto industry (even for EVs) is a mature industry. Toyota, Honda, GM and others are all making enormous pushes into that space. Not to mention German, Korean and Chinese manufacturers. My bet is the big boys eat Tesla's lunch.
