Yes, people definitely bought the narrative of a booming economy. Which is why we have President Kamala Harris right now.

But in some fairness to them, there was also a lot of transitory inflation. Even if you place the blame for domestic supply chain issues on Dem policies, the global supply chain splintered over something the United States had zero control over.

And yes a it’s great when foreigners lose their jobs to Americans. Actually it’s a really fucking great thing.

Hadn’t seen that yet. Glad we’re back to adding jobs instead of losing them.

What bad indicators? The one stupid economists list and then when actual come in they are wrong?

I needed a break from this site as I obsess too much. Very unhealthy for me. Apologies if you think I am syncing my timing. I’m sure I could find countless examples of good news during my breaks but hey that doesn’t matter to you.

That’s just standard inefficient governance. I’m pretty big on diversity, but I do think it’s silly to subsidize employment in this manner, regardless of the recipient. A lot of companies just get free money from these programs by continuing to employ the same employees they always had. I think tax breaks for employers should be based on driving productivity, not diversity.

We agree on this - but it’s important to understand the concept of the “ballers” was just government paying employers to hire immigrants.
