Is it ?
That seems to be the logic behind opening up... to get / keep the economy rolling.
Right?
Now 2 vpeople have panned Slavit's point, but no one has shown another explanation.
From day one the opposition to closing down was the economy would tamk
Also GDP contracted by 9.5% on an quarterly basis. Not a third
The economic damage is quite strategic in an election year
Lets play an economic trivia game. Put the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 in order starting with the year with the most jobs added and ending with the year with the least amount of jobs added.
When did it reach zero? The workforce adds almost a million people per year. Trump could have added 2.5 million jobs in his first 3 years and it wouldnt have lowered the unemployment rate.
Heres a fun fact for you, running trillion dollar deficits is a good way to inflate the economy and job growth in the short term.
What do you have against facts? I seem to recall that was your response when I pointed out an intellectually dishonest post by Candace Owens. I will grant you that its easier to add jobs the higher the unemployment but the difference is Obama's term was/is finished. He added 11.6 million jobs and took us from 10% unemployment to under 5% unemployment. Thats where he finished. Assuming Trumps term ends in January he needs to add 8 million jobs just to get to zero. Heres another fun fact, illegal aliens in the country went down under Obama.
Why do I post this? I post to counter the fake news narrative knowing it grinds the gears of those people. I have never been shy about criticizing any politician, you only take issue when I do it to one politician though.
well atleast someone gets it. You dont win elections by being the smartest or the having the best policy. You win elections by appealing to the stupid vote. They are the easily influenced. There are very smart people on all sides. They are the vast minority. Elections arent won by swaying the smart people.
