Can you explain how the hording is impacting supply?

Buying the housing and then pushing rent prices higher because there are fewer available houses to rent in the area at a lower cost. You buy enough and do this, it resets the market because the elasticity of demand for shelter is rather tight.

Maybe we could try cutting spending as a radical approach to improve our debt crisis

Happy for the State of Argentina. Let’s check in on the Argentinians:

Under Milei, Argentina’s energy ministry reported in June that low-income households that previously paid just 5% of the real cost of electricity have started paying a third of it while middle-income households now cover at least half following Milei’s removal of subsidies.

The government has also capped electricity consumption to qualify for subsidies, squeezing families as a cold front sweeps Argentina during the Southern Hemisphere’s winter.

Solving crisises aren't painless

Well that was a fun recession.

Edited to add: I’m not overly optimistic about the market overall, but it was a bit rich watching the Right pronouncing the end of days in near-unison.

Neither the right nor the left understand why we are in a financial crisis.

A vote for Trump is not too indifferent than a vote for Commala. Neither of them understand what is happening

And magically when Trump wins the global economy will strengthen.....

I hope so. I would like to see how that happens. Cutting needless regulation, spending, and taxes? Sign me up!

Signing big beautiful spending bills to revitalize the economy? No thanks... we just lived through the failure of the IRA

Didn’t President Biden promise his Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) would create millions of green jobs? In case he missed the news, SunPower, one of the country’s top rooftop solar installers, this week declared bankruptcy. Meantime, more companies are canceling green energy projects.

The 39-year-old SunPower is the latest solar rooftop business to fail this year. Others include Titan Solar Power and Sunworks. SunPower cited a “severe liquidity crisis caused by a sharp decline in demand in the solar market and SunPower’s inability to obtain new capital.” The IRA boosted solar subsidies, so why has demand fallen?

One reason is higher interest rates have made rooftop panel leasing less attractive to customers. Some states like California have scaled back programs that pay customers to send solar power they don’t use to the grid. Such subsidies raise the cost of power for people who don’t have panels. In California the grid is often overloaded with solar power.

The cost of panels has also increased amid overall inflation and President Biden’s tariffs, which were backed by domestic manufacturers and Democrats in Congress. Solar installers warned the tariffs would hurt their industry, and they have. Jobs that Mr. Biden’s subsidies giveth, his tariffs and inflation taketh.

Got to make sure the ccp gets the money for solar panels

Great policy from aces as usual! Increased costs from artificially deflated baselines will always happen but if you have tunnel vision and this is all you care about then I understand why you come to the conclusions you do.

Didn’t 57 declare this a dub ? And the rural internet initiative that hasn’t gotten anything done ?

Shocker t

Just reciprocating your generosity

Your position on tariffs is well noted.

My position in the green new deal is also well noted.

You come to whatever conclusion you want. If all you care about are artificially deflated costs then nothing will change.
