In the short term, no. If it helps farmers sell domestically, the answer shifts a bit.
If it means jobs and domestic manufacturing come back here like we wanted during Covid, then changing the system is likely worth it.

I think the intellectual mistake is as much jobism as tariffs.
By jobism I mean the idea that the economy/society benefits by holding on to a particular job or type of job.
The focus should be on the skills and productivity of our people. In a dynamic economy jobs are always coming and going. But if you have well-trained and adaptable workers they can prosper in a variety of environments.

I’m sure the admin has a final hand on what’s done. We can see if these were reported truthfully or not. We know Joe did not and it duped BL every quarter

This is the same Administration that just this week responded to the claim that their reciprocal tariffs were just half of a basic calculation of our trade deficit by posting a graph that showed it was exactly that, but with some fancy looking variables to confuse their supporters. They’ve not earned this trust.

I find it pretty amusing that someone always harping on TDS can’t make a post without mentioning Biden or the previous administration. But recognizing your own hypocrisy has never really been your strong suit.

How did the first 2 months rock? What meaningful gains or legislation happened? Only thing you could point to is deportations. But if that's your main concern with life that's sad.
S&P was tanking before these tariffs. Trump has shown no sign of competance unless you only care about deportations and executive orders that can be tossed out by courts or easily changed by another president.

Guess I missed those "rocking" first 2 months... I do remember the wrong people getting fired several times (including people safeguarding our nuclear weapons), national security whoopsies, at least one innocent (legal) asylum seeker getting sent to one of the worst prisons in the world, pardoning of some awful people, and a disastrous turn for the economy. Yeah, winning baby! Not to mention the dumb shit Gulf of America and Greenland crap.
There's also a big difference in saying the world is ending (your words, not mine) and pointing out all the terrible policy and hypocrisy.
