the situation we have is a toddler is in charge...he hires and fires the babysitters
so if the unemployment rate and the inflation rate are higher by the end of this year how would you grade "the plan"
Then he would be on his way to failure in a vacuum.
Think about how many fentanyl czars we probably will get out of this

if it all goes back to how it was, then yeah, makes no sense. If counties lower their tariffs though, I guess you can say it worked. Several countries seem ready to lower/eliminate their tariffs on us
This is why I consider the media coverage for Trump so spotty.
A big issue for Trump here is that we aren’t actually gaining a whole lot from what’s been “conceded” to us. Most of the countries agreeing to drop their tariffs have a low spend with our companies to begin with because the things we export don’t jive with their populations, and the things we don’t currently export aren’t things we will suddenly be exporting without tariffs because our labor prices are much higher than international competitors. If Thailand stops taxing their citizens on our exports, we don’t really gain anything. But we lose on all the additional costs involved with importing goods from Thailand that we can’t domestically produce affordably.
