Your theory is wrong. Trump has been an ardent protectionist for a long time. He found Navarro's views congenial to his own.

I hate to say it but any country dumb enough to put Trump in the White House (twice!) deserves this. Unfortunately many people around the world who had nothing to do with it will be caught in the undertow.

Elon’s been the punching bag for this administration, but I wonder if those folks driving his disapproval rates realize he might be the best hope we have for reversing this tariff nonsense. We know Congress won’t play its role. The courts who knows, plus that will take too long. I hope Elon uses whatever influence he has with Trump. Probably won’t matter because idiot Trump has wanted to do this forever, but hopefully Elon keeps dunking on Navarro and it starts to resonate.
 
thethe has been begging for a trade war with China for years. It’s a shame he was deported to El Salvador because I’d love to hear his thoughts.

sorta like how Trotsky was at one time the great hope for stopping Stalin

we all know what happened to Trotsky...hopefully history will be kinder to Elon
