The effective tarrif rates on America is 2%. This is not a big deal. We buy more shit from other countries. We have 350M rich people who can buy more coffee beans from columbia than they can buy oil from us.
Trump threatening to issue the largest tax increase on Americans this century was met with the proper response. And good for him I guess to realize how retarded it was and back off
The true abuser still has very high tariff rates. So is Trump doing what is needed? When will we see dramatically increased cosss we are promised by experts that you lock step believe now.

What rationale does Trump have to lie about why he instituted the pause (which makes him look like he caved to financial market pressures) rather than make the case that he’s pausing precisely because he’s on the path to getting what he wants (like you’re trying to do)?
But why would we choose such an inane formula to apply blanket tariffs to those individual countries? That was a choice by the Trump Admin to pretend that an individual country’s import:export ration was a specific measure of their formal trade barriers instead of also potentially including spending habits of the citizens. Nobody made Trump do that or use a faulty formula to pretend it meant something else.
What does Trump have to gain from sending signals to calm markets?

I can assure you of one thing: if sturg has any economic blind spots, it’s certainly not similar to that of a leftist economic policy.
