Economics Thread

I can assure you of one thing: if sturg has any economic blind spots, it’s certainly not similar to that of a leftist economic policy.
His economic policies is definitely not leftist. But it’s essentially the radical opposite of it where he inevitably doesn’t care about those that can’t keep up.

Maybe he does care in his mind but the results of his policy prescriptions says otherwise in practice.

But he chooses the fucking process, and the only “results” right now are a market teetering on the edge of collapse being put on life support for 90 days.
You don’t like the process.

That’s on you. But the process is producing the desired response.

What does Trump have to gain from sending signals to calm markets?

Hmm - that’s a tough one.
Short term fluctuations are just short term fluctuations. That’s what I was reliably told. Seems like he’d have more to gain by telling the American people - and the markets - the truth.

His thesis appears to be that it’s the people that can’t keep up (working families and small business owners) that are least equipped to have this nuclear weapon of a trade policy hit them.

I don’t think the president of the United States should always tell the world the truth. Think that’s elyet another naiive position you hold.

Yes becuse sturg totally believes in experts and academics now.

But yuan devaluation / lower inflation and energy costs / tax reform will result in essentially zero net increase to costs to the American family.

I don't need a a modern day 2025 expert and academic to tell me that massive tax hikes is bad for consumers. Particularly poor and middle class ones.

Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell are experts who share this worldview of mine. The horror!

Who is right on this one, Navarro or Musk?

I’ll wait for the world’s preeminent Trump translator to just tell me when to believe him. Why guess?
I'll never tell you when to believe anything only that Trump is very deliberate about things he says and does.

Thats why the end results of what he does are usually good while people cry about the process.

Hey man - You are in the academics corner now. Own it. And then when the results are not what you expect you'll have time to reflect how you got it so wrong.

As usual its somewhere in the middle between those two. Love both so I will listne to both positions.

Your fervent trashing of everything Trump has absolutely everything to do with it.
Unlike you my critical thinking, beliefs, principles do not change because another man doesn't agree with them

I'm quite fine trashing Trump for being retarded.

Pathetic that you will twist yourself into a socialist just to cheer on another man
