Economics Thread

It is a good thing we are building chips in the US. Everyone should acknowledge that.
Its always been about hte race of AI/Robotics and stopping the CCP from beating us.

How do you stop them? STOP SENDING THEM ALL OF OUR MONEY!

DOnt' tell me that the autopen regime is responsible for todays news - Trump/MAGAs play long term has always been about this:

In its last days in office, the Biden Administration seeks to undermine America’s leadership with a 200+ page regulatory morass, drafted in secret and without proper legislative review. This sweeping overreach would impose bureaucratic control over how America’s leading semiconductors, computers, systems and even software are designed and marketed globally. And by attempting to rig market outcomes and stifle competition — the lifeblood of innovation — the Biden Administration’s new rule threatens to squander America’s hard-won technological advantage.

Are we shocked the autopen regime did something that could benefit the CCP?

I’m not unwilling to believe Biden would do something economically bad, but a scathing letter from a company trying to get Trump to save them from his tariffs is not the source I’m looking to for answers right now.

Good it’s releasing some pressure (because of the electronics tariff exceptions) but for context it’s still higher than when Trump said last week it scared him into the 90 day pause.

Yup - Some work to do.

I've told you repeatedly I'm expecting lots of turbulence the next couple of quarters.

I'm expecting to sign on to this forum many days to 'bad' news and have a bunch of I told you so's from the Sturg/Aces/Mqt brigade (think you are a much fairer arbitrator of whats happening).

Tariffs are one piece of the puzzle.

There is deregulation/taxes and in general a more stable business culture that Trump admin brings ot the country.

There is a reason NVidia is going all in. They understand that MAGA is the future and the old Democrat party is dead.

I guess we can add definitions to the list of things Trump isn’t good at.

Think 'definitions' are open to interpretations personally. God Himself did not come down and tell us with 'intelligence' means.

Sure, definitions are a human construct and language evolves. But we know what intelligence means because we’ve already defined it. If you looked in a dictionary and under intelligence it gave that definition, you’d have a bad dictionary.
