Economics Thread

as shitty as the Romney's of the world were, they didn't move republicans this far left this fast

No they just continually lost to the left further expediting the move to the left.

But hey - without Trump no judges and no roe v wade overturn. Much better off right?

But why does it make economic sense to buy from China?
that's not for me decide as a some central planner. if Americans think that is the best use of their money, than sturg33 says let them make that choice freely

now I ask again for a 4th time... no need for commentary on sturg33... but do you at least admit now that you are a socialist?

It's ok to admit it. Many many people are

It’s ok to admit that you ar happy to benefit from central planning.

well I described your economic preferences above... asked you if anything I got wrong... then asked grok what it described and it was pretty explicit about the fact that you are a socialist

so now that you know this about yourself, it will probably make more sense why we find ourselves disagreeing with each other so frequently - the same reason im constantly disagreeing with the leftists on here

You’re certainly a free market person predicated on central planning. Maybe you should learn about yourself.

We can't control what dumb socialist and communist countries do. it's why the remain poor and not free.

We can control what we do. And I want unlimited free trade.

The world would be better and richer if all countries followed our lead on trade (well, pre Trump of course)

I’m not even so greedy. I’d settle with a coherent strategy centered on national defense.

But you support a system predicted on this.

And you can’t see the hypocrisy.

When this materializes in success in the near future will you still think it wasn’t coherent?

What if trump is telling counties something different innnegotiations?

Should he have checked with chop first?

Certainly not.

I’m a results on the field guy at the end of the day.

But it would be lovely to have someone clearly define what “success” is in measurable terms.

no, I don't

I support the current system in place more than I support the retarded system that Trump and Bernie Sanders want.

But it's not optimized.

You do by not wanting the status quo to change. All that’s happened is more manufacturing centralization in a centrally planned state. The only reason it makes sense to buy from China is this fact.

If everything about the world was the same and China didn’t exist, we’d still be here advocating for free trade. This is a bizarre and irrelevant line of argument. The case for free trade predates the CCP’s existence.

you are changing the status quo by adding more central planning, with the added benefit of raising costs on your fellow countrymen

it's retarded

Certainly not.

That’s very obvious. More free trade with the added caveat of an entrance fee to access our markets. Other countries seem to be jumping at this opportunity to take market share away from China.

I’d expect exports to rise in the next five years while our concentration of imports to diversify. That’s succes.

No because then the economics of manufacturing would be different and more domestic companies could compete in costs.

What a silly comment

And yet democracies of the world are jumping at the chance to take market share away from the chief central planners.

“Capitalism” caused this centralization and rewarding of central planning. I know that’s a very inconvenient truth to swallow b
