I wasn't saying I liked the embargo at all.

I'm saying how awful the Philippines has been since they cut ties with the US.

If Cuba starts a new relationship with the US or vice versa, they will be much better off.

But you are wrong. That's what I'm saying. The Cuba embargo is in no way designed to protect the US economy, ergo it isn't an example of isolationist economic policy.

The US's role in actively suppressing the economy of a separate sovereign nation is almost the complete opposite of isolationist foreign policy.

No. Some caribbean islands would lost a lot of business I assume, but south beach is a destination. Thats like saying would Texas lose business if Mexico was raising catle or whatever people do in texas that isn't oil or government contracting.

I like to argue with you, but you're right. Sturg bow out of this one, US involvement in Cuba is essentially military in it's intent of overthrowing a government through discord.

I find it odd that basically all of the criticism is directed at what this is, or isn't, going to do for the Cuban people. What about the American people?

hopefully we can finally stop prosecuting Americans for visiting

it's insane it is the only place in the world where i can be fined 10k to visit (i know the embargo, it is actually spend money there but it is pretty hard to visit a place and not spend money)
