Executive Order #666, Enscheff

Scheff is a bit of a smartass but he brings a different variety to the board.

He'll be missed.

It's the internet, big deal not like he takes personal shots at least i dont think he does anyway.

This. This board would be better off without him. There are plenty of intelligent posters who have similar data driven opinions who refrain from personal attacks like thewupk, gilesfan, and sturg that we don't need someone who has no time to debate others with different perspectives with respect.

You can still be respectful even though it's on the internet - this whole idea that 'it's just the internet - so treat people however you want to' is misplaced imo. And I think he takes lots of personal shots, every time CLV writes something he takes a shot at him.

None of this offends me - I spent 9 years in submarines - im very used to big talk, trading insults, jabbing at people --- hell that all people do when the sub goes underwater.

But when it starts to dominate every other thread the board isn't as readable and when good posters start leaving or not posting as much because of it - that's a problem. IMO this board was better when there was a lot less of that, and certainly Enscheff isn't SOLELY responsible, but people are kidding themselves if they don't think he's one of the bigger issues.

I agree with this. Tired of the constant bickering so I wish it was longer.

My only beef with the guy is that he refuses to be corrected or accept a different viewpoint as plausible. Instead, everything turns into an insultathon. For the most part, I think he brings some perspectives to the board that are helpful in the discussion on player value and possible moves.
