These attacks are successful (to those that do them) because of lizard brain reactions like yours. They are easy to pull off because they are easy to pull off. Anyone who wants to kill a lot of people can do it fairly easily.
The real question is: Why did a 23 years old named Salmon Ramadan Abedi, with his whole life in front of him, chose to end it in this horrible way? Explain to us how a more draconian stance towards Muslims is going to change the minds of the Salmon Abedis of the world.
America has trollopy teenyboppers on speed dial. If Ariana cancels, rest assured that Justin Bieber will be there to save the day.
In the harshest stance if you don't allow mass migration of Muslims then these communities are safer. The migrants are bringing in radicalized thoughts which are contributing to the infection within the natural citizen born population. That's one quick way to reduce the chances.
The other way is to interrupt the ability for these groups to plan and organize freely. That means not leaving Iraq too early so the standing army could be defeated in a few short years. That means being decisive in who to back during conflicts and those parties that are in the best interest of western civilization.
So now...how does being nice to Muslims work? What hasn't he last 10 years taught us?

While I agree that the way the media has decided to talk about Islam (and religion in general) is a problem, it's not THAT problem. Bush decided to join a religious war. The ISIS statement mentions "servants of the cross" and the bomb had nails it sounds like, etc. To many there (and to many here) it is about religion vs religion. You want to point fingers and blame some group on our side? There you go. We've had politicians and TV evangelists and people like Joe the plumber on the news talking about the Christian god vs Islam and **** like that. This is why the war is still going. Religious wars don't just stop.

I answered this under my psuedo name and not Site Admin on another board but it is a decent debate on how to stop it. I think mine has the most promise because it is similar to Dalyn in a out of the box sort of way in regards to religion.
"The correct way to fight this is the sane, non-radical Muslims that are NOT of the Middle East, Afghan should exert their own pressure on them, even outright disband, alter the religious followings/ways like Christians HAD to do because burning people, hacking people limbs off, stoning to death is barbaric and counter productive. You rarely see Malaysia or Indonesia or even India result to these tactics of terrorism and pretty much their Muslim faith have evolve to almost equality as Christian dominant faith, you still see some stoning or hacking but it is rare. Even the American Muslims know that what I said before is total barbarity. Look at all the sports stars, congressmen, celebrities that are Muslims. They constantly preach against this type of behavior that is in the book they read. Just like Christians do not even pay attention to the Old Testament because it was barbaric and why the new one was written. Unfortunately Muslims don't have anything similar but by deeds alone they have evolve and try to stray from the barbaric part of the Quran."
Basically Islam is what Christianity was at the end 200 plus years ago. Inquisitions and atypical behavior for the most part banished and only sects would come up time and time again bringing us the Salem witch trials, the guyana tragedy, the Waco tragedy, the Westboro Church loonies and Church of Scientology. They are a subsect of Christianity warped. Just like the present that Muslims, some still grasp that culture but in much bigger populations but Christians of that time centralized until they got a clue and found out that barbarity is not the solution, life is and that each life is important. The three mentioned countries constitute most of the worlds practicing Muslims and they are getting away from it because it is evolving. Most of them in the states have already evolved or spring up their own. Most black Muslims born of Christian parents created their own version taking the good from both religions and trying to discard the bad. That is evolution. I don't know how we can incorporate that in the middle east but we need the Big Three to exert some pressure on Saudi Arabia and Iran to change their way of Islam life as it is not conducive to world wide policy or morality of practicing individuals.
One commented that we should stop backing Israel and most people laughed because within a month there will be 75 mil dead and a lot of radioactive clouds that can reach other parts of Africa, India and Russia. Not only we still have to control Israel, Russia would like that as well anything else you heard is just BS. Too many Israeli jews in both America and Russia.

Apparently the dip**** reported his teacher for Islamaphobia for condemning suicide bombers.
Also said he was radicalized during trips home to Libya where his parents moved back to after the fall of Gaddafi. Thanks Hilldog and Obama. More unintended blowback from meddling in the middle East.
