Fangraphs: Who Will Win the Next 5 World Series (Braves Mentioned)

It says in our blurb that industry chatter is the Braves won’t be looking to cash in all their chips this offseason. I’m really nervous/excited/interested to see how much prospect capital is moved.

I think one major trade is made with 2-3 major pieces from the farm leaving. Don't know for who, but it'll happen.

No idea in what world those people he talked to are living. Its not just stupud but its a stupid question to even ask.

Even if it we planned on it, I'd prefer the narrative to be that we don't want to trade too much from our prospect capital just to keep the upper hand in negotiations.

I really do think Realmuto is the guy. I'm not 100% sure where I stand in this, but I think he'd be it. Add Realmuto and Corbin and we're set. ;)

Highly doubt AA gets in on a SP with how much SP depth the Braves have. Granted i wouldnt be against Corbin but long-term deals for pitchers are scary. Two he's had TJ before, and last year was a career year.

I dont see us going nuts, but i think one major trade is made, for who i'm not sure but the Braves will make one big trade to improve the big league team. If i were i guess, i'd say Realmuto, Braves have been linked to him quite a bit.

Maybe trade away one more for farm depth.

If he is the guy, was it really worth it to spend 4 million on a backup?

Well Realmuto projects to make 6 mil next year per MLBTR projected arbitration numbers.

So you'd have about 10 mil in 2 catchers with Flowers/JT. As opposed to costing a draft pick and probably 15-20+ mil a year on Grandal.

Absolutely it is. If you can get a quality player on cheap deal, you do it every time. If Goldy were a FA right now and he would sign with us for 10 million, we'd be incredibly dumb not to do it.

Any back up catcher we have will likely still get about 200 at bats or so (maybe closer to 250). Having a backup catcher who can still be a quality hitter for those 200 at bats is pretty crucial.
