Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

Execs already speculating next play for Dodgers should three-way deal go through. Postulated one: "They'll flip Wood to Philly for Hamels."

Wood equals crap with Hart, but can be flipped for Hamels? Something is going on. I really want Puig. If that happens, I'll be okay with the deal.

If Olivera is the centerpiece, this deal is stupid.

Could have just ponied the money to sign him last winter and used Wood/Peraza in another deal

There's no way that Hart would gut this team and leave us with that! Period. I'm betting on a high upside arm. I'd scrap all that nonsense for Barnes or De Leon. Add either to Olivera and I'm dancing in the streets..buttazzz neked in the rain playa!

We are trading a high upside arm and our farm system is stuffed with them. At some point, Hart needs to consider the offense.

The odds of any of our starters reaching the caliber of Wood is very low. Hes a stud. His peripherals are awesome and hes a lefty. Maybe they think hes an injury concern.

Are we? I don't see Wood ever really being any better than he is right now. I'm not even fully sure that the deal isn't fair with a decent pitching prospect, but it's a deal that flies in the face of our current status as a non-contending team.

I blame myself for this. I'm watching Moneyball because the cable is out and got to the part where Brad Pitt started trading everyone when I saw this.

Olivera cannot be the headliner. Peterson, Seager, Puig or Urias have to be in the deal or we lose. No way you trade your top prospect and a young, controllable SP like Wood for Olivera as the centerpiece.

Trading away wood because of injury concerns has got to be a joke, right? He's the only damn healthy pitcher in the organization.

This is my face right now reading this thread:

I honestly think that's it. I believe they see Hanson in him and want to get something for him now before he gets hurt and implodes all value. Who knows though.

I'm totally disappointed in this trade, were selling off pieces that could help us and ones we should build around. Alex Wood is a gamer, I just don't understand the logic here.
