Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

I can't help but wonder (grasp on to) the idea that another major piece coming to ATL is contingent upon the Dodgers executing a Price deal.

Well, Heyward has outperformed Miller this year. We lost our shot to sign him long term. We lose the competitive balance pick (which is probably more valuable than Jenkins).

I think "smelling like roses" is a little extreme.

It would have been much better if we got Carlos Martinez, like we tried to do

Yeah, that deal wasn't about 2015.

That's asinine for you to say that without having a clue of who we will acquire.

As the team is currently constructed, we should be worse. We just lost our best pitcher

Honestly, please show how he's been better than Miller.
Miller has more IP, better K/9, way better ERA, better FIP and xFIP, better GB%. What stat puts Wood above Miller?

I decided to look at the last two years rather than the small 4 month sample of 2015.

Wood has a better tracker record, and I trust him more going forward. Yes - you can say Miller has outperformed him so far, but I'd rather have Wood going forward

Heyward has barely outperformed Miller at a much higher cost and is a FA. To say we didn't win that deal at this point is silly.

lol ok.
Saying Wood is definitively our best pitcher is inaccurate. He has not been this year. Shelby has always been more highly thought of and has been better as a Brave. Give me Shelby.

If St. Louis wins the World Series they won the **** out of the deal.

lol whatever, that makes little sense as Heyward isn't their only player.
They'll surely be content with it. But we should be, too. Miller is really good.

With the club having around $40 million to spend in the offseason and no major players set to hit FA, I don't think you have to be a thethe level homer to expect us to be better next year.

It makes plenty of sense.

Teams play this game with the ultimate goal of winning it all.

For once in your life could you just deal with a disagreeing opinion in a more mature manner?

I think Wood is our best pitcher. Miller is close. It's splitting hairs, frankly. relax

And potentially adding an impact bat for 6 million a year before the offseason starts while being able to replace the starting pitching internally.
