I had the 'pleasure' of observing several key anti-austerity protest countries in Europe beginning in the United Kingdom in 2011 and later in Greece and Spain in 2012/13. Generally speaking, those people know how to riot -- little to no looting, destruction concentrated on buildings like banks, municipal buildings, government offices. They knew that the only way to legitimately be heard was to be angry and loud. And for the most part those protests produced positive results for their movements; laws were changed ... politicians were scared.

I approve of the riots in Ferguson although I agree with the results of the Grand Jury. I respect the perception of unfairness and the right of the aggrieved to express their unhappiness. What I don't approve of is the looting, the gun fire, the 'lets take it out on everybody' mentality.

Sorry to disappoint Bedell but I don't have a dog in the fight and will freely admit I am a recliner cop. I don't know what happened who told the truth or who lied and Browns side, well we never will know. But what I do know is this -- Barney Fife was given one bullet for a reason.

It seems the same people, almost to a "T", that defended George Zimmerman are defending this Wilson cop .

No, sorry I wasn't clearer about that, but my comment on the 'lets take it out on everybody' mentality was aimed at the attacks on private businesses.

The police station? Fair game.

Just like Zimmerman, no common sense and we got two dead blacks. Maybe they need to rethink training when dealing with blacks, especially the thuggish types,. Both times back-ups were called but the idiots didn't wait, one trying to be a hero and the other think he was a tough guy.

I can't help some of us are thugs and they are dead because of that but what alarms me is the lethality could have been avoided if common sense were used. They had a description in each case and could have waited and got them later. I had eight cops pull a gun out on me and I was afraid to breathe. Do you think they called backup when they saw me driving down a one way street the wrong way (I was lost)? Of course they did and Cedar Rapids is not dangerous city either.
 
Why should there even be Thugs? There shouldn't have to be different training. People should act like civilized members of our society and not ones that try to physically assault police officers who are actiing in response to a store robbery.

There would be one less dead black person if Brown wasn't a degenerate.

Both times backup was call and didn't wait. When I got pulled over I had a squad at me and I was pimping Izod, Carlton Banks sweater and Khaki pants like Jake from State Farm, it was like I was a thug or something. Then you got George "hero" Zimmerman being Han Solo taking on a thug getting his ass kicked until he had no choice but to fire, could have simply waited for backup. You got "I got a gun" hard cop thinking, two black guys one as big as an offensive lineman and get nears him, WTF was he thinking. Gun or no gun, I wait for backup because that is a reason to ask for backup.

As for your direct shot at calling my kind in a roundabout way savages or the "N" word, this society that "some" of us live cannot be helped and was foster since we were sold and brought to this land. No matter how much I try to "help" they aren't going to listen to me. I have the right to say things about them, you don't. So your snarky ass comment will not be forgotten about "civilized" members of society when your kind kind of made and perpetuate that society.
 
My kind didn't do anything. I am first generation American. I don't come from money at all. It was wealthy white lords of Europe that brought slaves over. I can make whatever comments I want.

Everybody has the God given right of free will. To make the choices that you want in life. I don't care what anyone says everybody can choose to have a better life.

Bottom line is that Brown was an animal and was the sole cause of his own death.

I have gotten pulled over for a routine speeding ticket where multiple cop cars came onto the scene. I just shut my mouth, take my ticket and plead not guilty.

He is a cop. What type of resources do we need to spend if every time you try to talk to a black person, you need 2-3 cops? People are placing blame on the cop because he should be super duper and should have wrestled Brown without having to use a gun. Is that the expectation of cops to be able to wrestle 300 pounders?

I just find it amazing that the narrative has completely focused on what Wilson did. All Wilson did was his job. He was forced to do what he did because Brown was a degenerate.

Based on the story of one person and conjecture. No one knows what really happened at the car. What was said, because the other witness to that event is DEAD.

He should have waited for back up. He had every right to fire in self defense, never said that. He was not using sense. Plain and simple.

No, I said he was animal because of how he physically assaulted the store clerk and how he reached into a damn cop car for an officers gun. This all took place in ONE DAY! I think its fair to make a statement that this is not the only "agressive" "reckless" things he has done in his life. That is an animal. I am not making a projection to the rest of the African American population. You can think whatever you think of me. I know what I am inside and thats all that matters to me.
