Ferrell Takes the Field

Most random post about something that happened months ago?

Ah... Looks like somebody here was just a little bit too quick to judge.

As for the OP, I am surprised that it was actually good. I haven't seen it yet due to that same skepticism. I will have to watch it soon.

Haven't seen it. As for the event in itself, I love Ferrell, so he pretty much gets a pass from me on whatever he does. A lot of the traditionalists hated the whole spectacle and I can get that at a level, but it was a charity gig so I think everyone could have probably taken a deep breath. It's not like he hasn't invaded a professional ballgame before.

Can it be "worse" than Billy Crystal's Yankees gig? Garth Brooks with the Padres? Personally can't see the harm in those kind of deals when they're kept in perspective - "all press is good press" as long as it gets more people interested in the sport IMO.

Actually headed to stretch out on the couch to see it for myself for the first time since I recorded it the other night, but expect I'll come out thinking "there's really no such thing as a BAD baseball movie" like I have about most things over the last 45+ years - it's just Hollywood trying to make money off of baseball. Willing to bet there will be some fans who will look back 30 years from now and say "I'd never have been interested in baseball if it wasn't for that crazy stunt Will Ferrell pulled in 2015".
