FG Top 30 Braves Prospects

I would like to see us be in a position like the Dodgers or Yankees. They contend on a yearly basis, yet their farm system is consistently within the top 10. Sure we may not be able to spend like them on the major league roster, but those two organizations have done a great job of drafting well along with international signings, along with player development, to continuously stock their systems.

Dodgers are obviously the gold standard here and every team would love to be more like them, but without doing the math I have to imagine we have significantly more home grown players on our roster than the Yankees do.

Even the Dodgers are showing kinks in the armor. Will Smith is probably the last prospect they have really hit on and he was brought up in 2019. Maybe Outman keeps this up, but given his 30+% K rate, I think he'll drop like a rock before too long.

Gavin Lux is a solid starter, but certainly not the star he was billed as, and now he's out a full year.

you can have a good team and a good farm.

But you have to remember that we got hit with major penalties that impacted our farm. Then you have to add that we had guys hit fast (less than 3 years in the minors) with Strider, Harris and Grissom.

Then we decided to trade for Olson and Murphy who were established guys.

Then we've been buyers at the deadline for like 6 years in a row.

I just want them to draft some potential high ceiling young guys and not just get college guys to plug holes quickly starting this draft.
