FIFA World Cup 2014

No one has scored a goal yet.

I believe you have an Ivy League education. If you don't it's a wonder how you don't.

Anyway this was on paper or whatever you soccer folks use...a huge mismatch. Is it Algeria stepping up or Germany playing bad? Maybe a combination of both?

ALgeria had the ability to exploit the german's slow defense. Not to mention 10 saves from the Algerian GK. If you have 22 shots on net and only 2 goals either you're taking a ton of far half chance shots (which the germans weren't, only 9 shots out of box, only 6 on net, meaning they had 14 on target inside the 18 that were blocked or saved, which is insane) German's dominated possession but couldn't do quite the right thing because of fear of needing to backup.

BTW Macca is probably my favorite soccer commentator. Love when he and Darke have games but I really love him in the little post game things they do.

I'm bouncing at 4 tomorrow if not earlier. I'll find ESPN radio to listen on the way home too. At least we're not a noon game.

I guess it's just a difference of cultures/may have something to do with Brazil/Idk, but it's stupid to be playing that early in the day where a lot of people won't be able to watch.

As Goldfly says they often declare holidays during these events.

And it could be worse, last WC the late games were at like noon. Or something insane like that. I know the only reason I got to watch so much was being unemployed at that time (may have stayed unemployed semi-intentionally)

What was really bad was when they had the morning games in Korea. But that was back in the days of summer vacation.

Today is the first game I won't be able to watch...well I'll be watching on espn 3 at work and on the way home, but not the same. I tried stretching my time off work from surgery as long as I could but had to go back today. Hopefully I have 4G lol USA!!

I'm counting down the hours until 4. Hoping I get off early if not I'll be on my way home listening and yelling before sprinting home to change. I'm so amped. I know I'll for sure miss the quarters but I will deal if the US delivers us to them.

Could this Jozy character be the difference between a win and a loss for the United States? Is he a big x factor?

Piss. Was really hoping the Swiss could force PKs. Would have been a much better match up.

I wonder how they will use Jozy...if he hurts that hamstring again early it could really set us back. Any word on if Belgium's star player is playing? Heard he was questionable (His name is escaping me)

He's not starting. (Jozy)

Which Belgium? Lukaku? He hasn't done ****. Hazard probably the star of the team.
