There are multiple possible explanations. But right now none of us know. One possibility is the FBI had doubts that all the classified material had been returned and wanted them better secured. Between early June and now they obviously developed some new evidence.

To look at it the other way, why padlock the doors and go through all that if you’re planning a fake search and seizure? Seems like a massive oversight to plant seeds of your misdeeds if you’re going to actually frame Trump.
