Folty to NY?

A recent article by the New York Post was published stating New York's continued interest and Folty. It's all over Twitter

So a writer for the Post and a bunch of people on Twitter have discussed it. Hmmmm, isn't The Donald the only real person to follow on Twitter?

I haven't seen any info that the teams have actually discussed anything like that.

NY has a bunch of guys they would not trade. So who would they give up for Folty?

I'm not trading Blair for McCann, unless McCann is free.

They can ask for anything they want. Anyone is available if they back up the truck and give us a major haul.

For McCann???? There better be some major talent coming back with him, as well as them eating a bunch of money.

I just don't think the Braves want Mac that bad... and the Yankees have to be able to see that... don't they?

Well we did get fixated on Olivera. Hopefully coppy hasn't gone full retard over mac

I think by reputation, the NYY and the ATL have had the most lopsided (in thier favor) trades in the recent year+.

Any discussion between these two teams is likely NOT going to work out, because they want to win the trade. However, if they want pitching prospects, then we have them and it will cost them. i think nothing happens at all, but fans fascination with McCann will continue.

If the Yanks asking price for Mac is a Folty level player, then there is ZERO chance he is moved at all. They have literally no leverage in trade negotations. Mac has 30+ million left on his deal (potentially 50 million if he qualifies for his incentives) and a full no-trade clause. And clearly the Yanks have nowhere to play him either.

Any interested teams willing to take on his contract had the chance to do it for basically free during August and Sept. And zero teams put in a claim for him. That should tell you all you need to know about his trade market and trade value.

Amen. He's a salary dump.

They have another catcher who is younger, better and cheaper. Mac is a very good hitter for a catcher, but he's not a good enough hitter to be a DH long term.

If the yanks have the cash (or b/c Sanchez is cheap) they can keep a really expensive back up catcher. If they want to move Mac then he's prob going to want to go to only a handful of places.

If we take Mac and pay more than 5 million a year we should be giving up guys like Gant, at most.

I don't blame Cashman for asking for Folty for Mac. He had been dealing with teams in the race who were overpaying as they were in "go for it" mode and he got a little excited. Obviously after putting him on waivers he has seen there is no interest in Mac at that price, and maybe now he could be a little more realistic.

I'm open to Mac at the right price, but I'd gladly settle for Castro or Wieters pending their price before I'd give up a player of value for him.

Why do I feel the people saying to go out and get Sanchez are the same people who thought the Braves had a chance at Moncada last year.

It's actually kind of a refreshing change of pace after the Lucroy circle jerk.

Even if the yankees eat half of his contract he's not even close to worth ONE of Inciarte or Folty. I still don't see McCann as a smart move unless he comes very cheaply

I truly hate Yankees fans. All teams fanbases have unrealistic trade proposals. Mostly you see fans overrate prospects value. It's headache inducing to read how much the Yankees fans overrate mediocre players.

Reading multiple posts such as Folty isn't enough alone, they want Fried, Blair, Ellis, asking for Newcomb and Soroka. It's insane. BMac is a 33 year old catcher on the decline who just had a sub 2 war year. I

Read over a variety of other teams message boards, and the Yankees ones are by far the least informed, most entitled, and unrealistic.

I would maybe trade Blair or Gant if they paid half his salary and still not be particularly enthused.

Typical overhyped NY media bull****. We're not trading a fraction of that for McCann. If they absorb $5m/yr of salary, Mac is worth a couple mid level prospects. Yeah, Blair, Gant, something like that.

Their fans are retarded, and Cashman is way overrated.

New Yorkers think the world revolves around New York and seem genuinely surprised over and over when the rest of the world tells them to suck it.
