Free Agents: Where They Going?

People really think we have no chance of actually getting Cespedes, huh? I think we have a pretty fair change -- but I don't really want him very much.

I'd love to get Jansen and Turner.

The Braves will not acquiring any of those 3 players.

Now that we are running all new threads past Knucksie to make sure the title accurately reflects the content, can we also have him pre-screen all rosterbation posts to weed out ones that suggest players with 0% chance of coming to Atlanta? It would save us all many munites not having to read those suggestions.

Here is a list of guys with zero chance to acquire to get Knucksie started:

Cespedes
Turner
Desmond
Chapman
Jansen
Melancon
Sale
Quintana
Archer
Verlander
JD Martinez

So what about Mark Melancon...

He seems to get forgotten and would be a huge piece to the pen. I would love the Braves to go in for him around 4/44 and just slot everyone else down one notch.. We would have an elite BP and probably have to trade someone at the deadline to make room for one of Paco/Winkler/Minter.. The prospect return for good relievers is insane right now. I would be buying as much pitching as I could...

Signing relievers to lengthy deals is rarely a good idea. We have plenty of BP options. I just don't think dropping 11 million a year on a reliever is very smart.

You actually think statements like this make you look LESS like a prick?

Wow.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Ramos in here on a 4 year deal (I'd prefer shorter, but it's likely to take a 4 year deal maybe 5 to get him.

Not tied to draft pick compensation either.

If we sign any of the top 3 players on your list, delete your account.

“Unfortunately, this injury happened so close to the end and it may affect whether I’m able to stay with a National League team or not, but if it’s up to me, I definitely would like to keep playing for the Nationals and play as long as I can.”

That quote tells a lot. This is his 2nd torn ACL in that right knee. Athletes go in to rehab usually over-optimistic. If he's already having these thoughts, then his catching days may be numbered. If they're not it could be a 50/50 at DH and catcher.
