Traditional post for me right after the World Series ends. Where will these guys go next season?

Ervin Santana

Hanley Ramirez

Pablo Sandoval

Nelson Cruz

Jon Lester

Max Scherzer

James Shields

Andrew Miller

None of the guys on that list have the maturity, grittiness, leadership and clutchness we're looking for.

Whoops. That's nsacpi's line.

Scherzer to Yankees
Hanley back to Dodgers
Santana to Diamondbacks
Sandoval back to Giants
Cruz to Tigers
Lester to Angels
Shields to Tigers
Andrew Miller to Mets

First time I've ever tried this. Let's see how blissfully ignorant I can be:

Max Scherzer: Cubs
James Shields: Yankees
Andrew Miller: Tigers

Ervin Santana: Royals
Hanley Ramirez: Dodgers

Andrew Miller Tigers

All will most likely be out of our price range except maybe Ervin if he accepts the qualifying offer.

Hart said he's gonna go the FA route first. And is saying that payroll could go up to 120 million this year. My uncle is a season ticket holder and apparently he's telling them all that. But he could fit somebody in and back load it a little with Uggla's money being gone after next year. Depends on what money he trades away to.

Hart said trade route was more likely than FA route. And he did not say anything about payroll going up to 120M. No matter what your uncle said.

In a phone conversation with not just him but other season ticket holders. That's what was said. Regardless of what you say.

I thought it was a well-established fact that we were going to see small -- yet not insignificant -- annual bumps to payroll headed up to 2017.

According to the article, "north of 100M and south of 120M." I have a strong hunch closer to the former. 105M if I had to pick a number with some held in reserve for mid-season moves. But we'll see.

As things currently stand we're at about 98M. Not much room to play with unless some salary is cleared. That's why I think BJ plus cash/prospects for a pitcher with a somewhat burdensome salary is the most likely route.

This is my understanding as well. And I don't think it would be good PR at all for Hart nor the Braves, in the position that he and they are in, to mislead season ticket holders.

Santana can't be traded until June 15th if he accepts the qualifying offer.

I really hope Ervin declines the qualifying offer. Definitely would not mind getting him back but in my opinion we can get another decent veteran for closer to $8-$10M a year and spend that savings elsewhere.

Pablo Sandoval- Giants
