Augusta batters walked 20 times in their loss to Fayetteville. The Fayetteville winning pitcher walked seven guys in 1 2/3 IP.

Nice start for Bryce Elder. Can't put too much stock into any one game, but I am going to take a wild guess and he or Strider might be the first guys promoted to a higher level this season.

Wonder if Strider's not a candidate to be fast-tracked to help out in the pen at some point since they're really trying to watch his innings this year.

That could be. From what I have read (which isn't much), Strider's fastball is his only workable pitch at this point. Elder has a lower ceiling, but he pitched a lot at Texas and is in terms of polish, probably ahead of Shuster as well.

I doubt they are going to fast track Strider... he’s not far from TJS... I’m sure they will be treating him with kids gloves... I certainly think they will be promoting him up the minors as needed... but I don’t see a scenario where he’s fast tracked to the MLB club
